1997-98 FIA GT Championship|2 SPOTS LEFT|

Another question before we race - about tyres:
There are 8 sets of tyres to use per event from what I can make out in the OP. So, when quali is finished, (and provided only one set has been used) are we reduced to 7 sets of tyres to use during the race?

Yes, so that why it important to conserve tyres because you will end up using wet tyres on a dry track if you don't.

1997-98 FIA GT Championship Round 1
Daytona Road Course
Midday GMT April 20

The FIA GT Championship in fact never had a race held at Daytona but it is similar to the Miami Road Course which the FIA GT raced at in 1998. It is a high speed track with a tight infield. A few hints- watch out for the first corner (especially at the start) and slipstreaming will be key for qualifying.

Race held in my lounge

SCHEDULE
Room Open- 11:30 am GMT
Qualifying- 12:15 pm GMT
Race Start- 12:45 pm GMT
Race Finish- 1:45-2 pm GMT

37+1 Laps
212 km
1 Hour

Looks sweat :D. Shame I didn't bring my PS3 for my vacation :(.

Just noticed this, the time you have will easily clash with my Global GT (Held on the exact same time). Not sure if you'll compete in Global GT with the races on the same time. There is a benefit to this, we could have a Joint Round (One of your classes race with my Global GT).

Don't worry It wont be held at this time again.

I don't think I am going to make this today, the time is weirdly not right for me. Sorry all

Not gonna be able to make this one. Sorry for the very late notice.

With the tire regulations, can I qualify on inters thereby saving me one more set for the race if needed?

Also what happens if you take damage before you intend to pit for tires and have to pit for the damage (whether it be your own fault or not)?

Say I take damage on the first corner first lap and have to pit, does that count as one set of tires used?

If you use the tires for less than two laps it does not count and you are welcome to qualify on inters.

Have fun with your race gents ;).
Will be able to make it in Round 2.

@F1, I'm still considering a joint event with Global GT and FIA GT :D.

Really annoyed with the race. I really hope round 2 is much better.

So was I. It was really disappointing to only see four people racing when there should have been 10+ even without those who told me they couldn't make it prior to the race. Also I'm really sorry about the crash at the end because I had a big lockup and went straight into the wall at the first corner and smashed my car up then I couldn't control it when I was trying to let you past.

I thought it went pretty well, except for that Tohost fellow
I think you should keep your specs and he should be ready next time!
Hatfield you ran a great race, I too fell victim to F1's tail waggle coming out of the International Horseshoe but was able to drive on through the damage to the finish.
I did have to rethink my strategy when we cut the laps down, then again when we all had to change our tires thanks to Tohost.
I could have made it to the end with my RH's and did not have to pit the second time, oh well made for an exciting finish :-D

Sorry again for missing this one - I got my timezones mixed up. When I sent that message saying I couldn't make it, I thought it was just a few mins from race start. I'd not been up long so I didn't think it would be wise to jump on without warming up. Turns out there were another couple of hours, my bad.

What were the results?

Sorry I missed it guys. Honestly, it's April 20th, and I forgot.:D

Hey sorry for missing this one. Turns out I won't be able to run many races because gmt to pst creates some crazy times.

:) Thanks. I've added a GMT timezone country to my phone clock so all I have to do from now on is take a look at that. I was looking forward to the race as well, I'd done some practice laps and worked a little on strategy etc. nm.
Bit of a facepalm moment I think lol

Looks as though there's a new McLaren driver. He seems fast :)

As for specs i'm thinking of restarting the series with better specs where all the cars have real life specs. I would have put new specs in earlier but I needed to hack the weight to do this which I don't know how to do. I would put the lister and the panoz in GT1 and allow three drivers for each car and scrap GT2. I watched that video and it looks interesting. I have thought about doing a 97/98/99/00 Le Mans race on GTPlanet. I would use the real specs of-
LMP
BMW V12 LMR
Audi R8
Pescarolo C60
GT1 (equal to LMP)
Toyota GT-ONE
Mercedes CLK-LM
Nissan R390
Panoz GTR-1
McLaren F1 GTR
Lister Storm GTL
GT2
Dodge Viper GTS-R
Corvette C5R
GTS (equal to GT2)
Ferrari F40
RUF BTR

Would it be at all possible to have the actual race start at midday GMT?

Aussie time its 11pm and with all the delays in getting the race started I am getting well into Sunday morning.

That would be a good series Williams, could use one more car in the GT2 category but not bad.
You should make one up, perhaps just after this one runs, or maybe the next day 💡

Thanks man...
I'd do the series, but this F1 is doing this and fresh is doing his 90s GT series.
I don't want to feel like I'm ripping someone off or vice versa.

Same thing applies for my WEC.

I didn't hack weight for Panoz to be GT1.
BTW Lister Storm GTL is also GT1.
