We might even get crooky back in, i saw him go online after we started. Where has he gone? Is he still racing anymore?

Sorry hadn't checked the thread in a while and I was also getting disillusioned with online racing with all the disconnects and lag I kept getting... but I see you've changed the race day to Sunday which should be better.

Plus I should be getting a new router delivered soon so hopefully that will sort my connection troubles.

I'll race Valencia; 8 p.m. GMT is OK with me (makes it Noon here).

Not a fan of Valencia; no room for errors:nervous:, or passing  IMO

Hi,
I would like to leave the championship.
I found that after two races I found angry and annoyed. This is not suppose to be how racing is, it should be about enjoying yourself at speed with everyone, not a test of your patience.

I wish the best for the championship for the future

David

I won't be able to attend the next race, as I have used up all 140gb of my internet data(...on porn), and i'm shaped to 56kbps, so i will be able to join, but i will be lagging....very badly.

The next race will be held on SUNDAY at 8:00pm GMT (8:00pm UK time - 9:00pm CENTRAL EUROPEAN TIME (PARIS, MADRID, BERLIN etc.) - be there or be square! I'll send out invitations around 10-15 minutes before (might not be able to invite you before 9pm, depending on traffic situation - I'm working until 7pm GMT).

Sorry about you, Pawel. :( Valencia will be boring anyway. :/

I may, or not, be there; we are looking for another house to rent and have a viewing on Sunday; please send me invite regardless, thanks.

If this is still running on a Thursday at 7.30 uk time i can probably do it - is there any room to join?

I'm experienced with all aids off so you won't have to worry about clean driving from me - psn Paulzx

Well done, jcm. I felt like a beginner again. Glad at least one driver liked the track. :D

Anyway!

What a wonderful race for McLaren! 1-2!

 That track is incredibly boring!!!

To make it more exciting I used a risky tire stragtegy.
Start: Options (88%)
Lap 6: Primes
Lap 18: Primes

I honestly had no idea whether or not I would be able to go 12laps on prime. Luckily for me, I did make it (barely). On the last lap every corner was either really slow and safe or a reeally crazy counter-steer "please don't crash, please don't crash, should've gone slower oh why didn't I just take this corner slower... ...Oh yes I made it :)"

Could you post your exact setup btw? I usually get the car around there but I'm just curious how you made it turn in like that. :D

Edit: Nope it's almost identical to your 1.02 setup. However just before I went out for qualifying I adjusted the Suspension Spring stiffness. I think I adjusted them each 1 point in the direction that had less tire wear.

My Race Report

Qualifying: I finally got pole :). My fastest lap ever at Valencia too :).

Pre-Race Tire Strategy
Start: Worn Options (88%)
Lap 7: Primes
Lap 18: Primes

Race: Got a fairly good start off the grid. Maintained my position through the first corner. I then focused hard and pulled a Vettel-type lead over the rest of the grid. I continued on the options until lap 6 when my tires were getting quite bad. I was originally planning on going to lap 7 however at the last second I panicked and dove into the pits.

Stint II: I came out of the pits with some cold prime tires. Mr. S was right behind me and at the first corner he went for an overtake on the inside. Our cars touched, however luckily we were both okay. I managed to pull out a lead on him afterwards. It got quite boring until about lap 14. My prime tires were starting to go. I tried to be carefull. On lap 18 (my 12th lap with the primes) I was very scared. My car was sideways half the time, slow the other half. Luckily I made it into the pits.

Stint III: On lap 19 I was on new cold tires, still in first. I had a fairly large lead on the rest of the field so I drove smoothly for most of the laps. On laps 20,23, and 24 I went all out to try and get the fastest lap. I got a 1:35.976. Bazylfox would improve upon this with a 1:35.650. So I decided to go all out once again on the final lap. I was going on a good pace until the middle of the second sector, in between the two long straights. I spun out to my right, hit a barrier (no damage oddly), and continued spinning until I was facing where I was supposed to be going . I only lost 3 seconds of time, however it also meant I lost my chance to get my first ever Grand Slam. :(

All in all I'm very happy with both my first ever online pole, and my second victory in this series. I'm also glad I tried a risky tire strategy as it turned a boring track into an exciting race. :) I'm looking forward to racing with you again next weekend :)

I noticed we touched but thought you'd come out of the pits (my first thought you could've spun) when I saw the white lines on your tyres. That's why I decided to stay behind you and off the throttle when I got DRS. No need to overtake, I wouldn't have kept the lead anyway. Great race!

👍 Thanks :)

By the way, I think I have 74 points

Can't wait for next race. Silverstone in the wet. I'm slow at Silverstone, but fast in the wet, inconsistent at Silverstone, inconsistent in the wet. Should be exciting

Yes, very interesting race for me. A lot things happened to me :)

First - i had good start and keep up with jcm and mr. S, we had quite nice battle with Mr.S for few laps.
But i made mistake and went wide so i lost some time. I pitted early for primes and hoped to overtake Mr.S when he would pitted.

But i went wide on another lap and destroyed my front wing and also got drive through penalty.

So - first penalty - went to pits, and with damaged wing gained another two penalties. Well ok. So i lost two places (Rubens and Perez) and when finaly i got new wing and fresh option i made my run :)

Finished lapped by jcm but with fastest lap :)

I'm satisfied with my speed but need to work on consistency :)

Wow! What a qualifying lap JCM, super quick. Too bad we're back to less competitors, hopefully, we get more next week, at silverstone, which is my 2nd least favourite track of the season(1st is turkey).

And it's February, so Peter may be back soon, and hopefully crooky gets his new router, and we can have a consistent grid of 7 each race.
