if you dont have a back up you can try and salvage the files by going into the games settings

This means you uploaded a backup from a different version (ex. Ver 1.6)

honestly if its not letting you upload from your usb drive then im sorry you have to start from over there isnt much you can do if you have a friend that can give you his save game so you dont have to start over i would go with that
