Hi all,

I'm wondering if it's possible to downgrade my game to version 1.0 or at least before 2.0? I deleted the game data (the actual game data and not just the save), disabled my network connection, restarted my system and installed from the disc but an early 2.x version installed... I'm guessing because my disc wasn't from launch maybe or possibly I'm doing something stupid.

I hope I'm just being stupid which is usually the most likely scenario.

Thanks!

If it says Academy Edition (or, less likely given your location, XL) on it, that'll be the case, yes.

If you do have an original disk though, the broader answer is yes.

Unfortunately I don't have the case... Well I do but it's packed away somewhere that's really hard to get to and I keep all my PS3/4/5 discs in normal CD cases 'cos I'm a weirdo.

As for the disc, there's nothing on it which mentions "Academy" or "XL". The only real code on it which I think might identify a version is "BCES-00569" if that means anything to anyone?

All European GT5 versions have that code, as it's the code for GT5. There may be more - "/A" identifies the Academy Edition, and "/S" the Collector's Edition, for example.

However I'm only aware of the Academy Edition with a post-Spec II game version on-disc in Europe, and the disc does say "Academy Edition" fairly clearly near the top. I think even the Platinum version has a 1.x game version.
