Now that the G27 is fully compatible from updates 2.0 and 2.01 I would like your confirmation on something. I was wondering if the latest update (2.01) seemed like it removed a lot of the dead zone or slop when the wheel is centered? I personally noticed a difference and hope the change is permanent.

It's also nice to finally have the e-brake, horn, lights, reverse, left and right views custom programmed to the 6 buttons on the wheel 👍.

I love button mapping on my G25! I can put on my iRacing setup 👍

As for dead zone, I've never had one to begin with, and still don't. But the two model wheels might be different. My wheel has always felt super firm in all positions.

That didn't sound right...

I also love being able to program the 6 face buttons, really glad they decided to update the support.

As for the deadzone, I haven't noticed a decrease in it. But while it was apparent before, it never really bothered me so it's possible I just don't realize it's better. If it is, awesome job PD.

Thanks for your replies!

Interesting that you all have never noticed a dead zone. Mine was really bad as it felt like there was no force feedback for an inch or two either direction when the wheel was centered. This made it tough to enter or exit turns at Daytona consistently. After the 2.01 update most of the slop is gone and I now have force feedback closer to the center position.

If it matters my force feedback is set to the lowest setting, power assist is on and the other setting is the middle one (professional ?).

If your listening PD, please keep the changes 👍.

There's your problem. You're not going to feel much feedback if you have it turned all the way down. You should also have power assist off and put it on "simulation". I've been driving with a G27 almost everyday since December and I feel no dead spot. The feedback is slightly less when the wheel is centered, but that's how a real life car is.

I agree with StigsHero, have your FFB at least 6 or 7 (I believe 7 is the default value/strength) and if you find it hard to steer turn the power assist ON although I prefer it OFF myself.

Spend sometime getting adjusted to force feedback- even if at the beginning you might feel that it's ripping your hands off. In about 5 to 10 minutes, your muscle will adjust.

When you set your FFB high what you'll get/feel is that each car has different steering weight- an R35 GTR feels heavier than a Ferrari 458; That each tires (compound) give different feedback which becomes more apparent with higher FFB; You can feel the weight shift and compression when driving and even a sense of inertia. I don't believe you can feel much of these if your FFB is set to 1 to 5.

Yeah I noticed a difference in the dead zone/Backlash. The backlash use to be so bad you could nudge the wheel a tiny bit and then let go and the wheel would jerk back and forth until your car spun out. Now it feels like after nudging the wheel and letting go it only jerks back one time, and much more gently than before.

Oh and I know you arent supposed to let go of the wheel, I was just trying to explain backlash.

I like the changes.

I also agree that you should turn off the power assist, its terrible for driving feel. All it does is remove the force feedback when you yank on the wheel quickly.

I have the DFGT. Yes.
It was the first thing I noticed no deadzone. I thought it was me and checked this forum, even better than before. Cool I thought it was just me.

It's good to hear that I'm not the only one that noticed a difference in the way the wheel feels. Let's hope that future updates only improve the wheels performance.

I really want to increase the FFB but there are several reasons why I can't at the moment. When I race online it's mostly dirty nascar. It could be my setup but my hands, wrists and elbows get sore. Things are also tense when racing equal cars which doesn't help. You also get wrecked a lot and having less FFB makes it easier to react. The main reason I keep FFB low is because I have my G27 mounted on a cheap wooden t.v. tray. The ergonomics of my setup also contributes to my muscle soreness. The stand is also too light and if I had FFB up high it would wobble or tip.

Even with FFB set on 1 I still notice a difference in the feel of the wheel when using different cars. Eventually I hope to build a better stand or mod my existing one.
