I'm in the middle of Nürburgring 24h endurance, currently suspended.
Is it safe to update GT5 to 2.01 at this stage?
Or if the upgrade should result some issues, is there a way to downgrade back to 2.0 somwhow?

From what I understand, the update will only work for races saved after the update has been installed. But also, was it only Tsukuba that was affected by the issue in the first place?

I would do it offline like said above. I wouldn't update in the middle of a endurance race.

There were more.

From another thread:
So, I just downloaded update, fired up to finish my endurance race and can't drive.... The computer is driving and I'm not sure if he plans to pit..... Tires are looking really bad..... Anyone else have this happen?

I would unplug your network and finish it offline if i was you.

Yes, this is what I was thinking. I will unplug the cable to avoid accidental update.

PD has always been bit lazy on testing and solving exceptions. It is (at least was in 1.x) known issue that if network gets update while you are logged in and playing endurance, you will end up with autopilot after finish. Not a nice present for 24h driving.

I'm not sure we do know the answer to this as posts on the following thread: <https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=229688> appear to suggest that a pre-patch race can be resumed.

I would also like to know the answer to this as I'm several hours into the Le Mans 24h. If no-one is prepared to test, I think I'll have to take the safest option of completing offline. A bit anoying as now I can't do any driving online with my 2nd account.

I don't think it is fixed.

Otherwise it would be in the change log.

The question isn't whether anything has been fixed, rather whether applying the update v2.01 will affect the endurance race saves from ongoing endurance races.

I have asked my brother to test this on his PS3 and save-game as he isn't in the middle of a race. He has tested and can confirm that you are returned to the re-start race screen where you either click the green flag to continue or red symbol to exit. Unfortunately he didn't then try to run any more laps so the question still stands. He has now exited the race and moved on so is not able do anything further to test for us.

I was in the middle of the Tsukuba 9 hours when I suspended yesterday.
This morning, I downloaded the update and got back to my race without any problem 👍
So I guess it's safe :)

I can also confirm that I updated to 2.01 while I had a suspended race for the Nurb 4H.

After it was done, it sent me right where I left off and I was able to continue my race with no problems. :)

Thanks Filo_le_muet and MuoNiuLa, that really helps.

On trawling the other threads I've only seen one report (from M3RL1N1981) where there was an issue on resuming a saved endurance. I believe his resume was on Tsukuba, and the suggestion has been that he needed to re-start the race to gain the benefit of the fix in the patch.

Great to hear, you just relieved a minor panic attack for me.

Just an update.
Tsukuba 4hr endurance race is still broken after 2.01 patch.
Did a suspend in game and resume immediately without log out. It works. After I suspend and then resume next day, the car drives on it's own. Does not pit even when tires is spent. Drove 1hr 50min and watch my ghost drove another 30min.
Entered pit lane at about 20kph right from the separation of the path.
Just a heads up for those trying it.

Yes it is safe, i dowloaded update 2.01 in the middle of the La Sarthe 24H enduro race (after I suspended the race), and when i went back to the race everything was ok!

I was in the middle of the Nurb 4HR when 2.01 came out and no problems for me it just updated and returned me to where I left off. I wouldn't blame you if you finished it offline though, 24HRs is a lot more than 4.

In this post.... Anyone tried suspended the Race when the car stop on the Pit Spot?

Yes this is what I did, and when I came back to GT5, I had to update to 2.01, and then the race loaded so I could continue.
