Well, we've just recently passed the half way point of the first ever two-point-three championship. I want to thank you all right now for you commitment to this series thus far. You guys have been great!
Over the season and during my time on GTPlanet I've learnt a lot about how to run a tournament and what NOT to do, I'd like to think in some small way that's contributed, and so I'd like to hear from you guys, the ones who made it happen.
I've got MAJOR plans for next year (with so many tournaments kicking off at the moment it would be suicide to launch another one now, plus I've got lots on)...I'm planning to expand way beyond anything you've seen so far on GTPlanet, I've even got a few series lined up(check the bottom of this post). But none of them are likely to make what I view as a largely successful tournament even better in the coming years, (even though this is probably the first and last 2.3 Sports Car Championship...) unless I've got commited racers, and that to a very good extent, I have. For that I thank you all.
Anyway, down to business. I'd really like to know what you liked, didn't like, any ideas, comments, things you'd like to see in future tournaments and any sort of rant you want to get off your chest about the Two-Point-Three Sports Car Championship.
Thanks again guys, the floor is yours,
Danisfast

The Gran Turismo V8 World Championship
This tournament will encompass all 62 (so far!) V8 machines in GT4. With the new system I'll have in place, it'll keep things both extremely close, and interesting till the very last lap! American muscle, British lightweight engineering, European luxury motors and brutal Aussie supercars are all eligable for this entirely original new tournament that will hopefully be out before GT5 is released LOL!!
The World GT Championship
I've noticed that there are a few GT based tournaments running, finishing, or getting started, but what if we combined ALL of the different GT class motors into one giant league?? I know when I was playing GT3, the World Cup I did the most frequently wasn't the Professional GT World Cup, it was the Amateur one. It wasn't because I was crap either. It was because I love touring cars, and so I've moulded all the ideas from this (the Two-Point-Three) tournament, and a few others to make the first World Gran Touring Championship on GTPlanet!! (well, first as far as I know!)
It'll be run on arcade mode, thus giving us chance to balance ALL of the cars. Extensive testing is already underway to try and make the first round as even as humanly possible. It'll be one of my longer tournaments using the best tracks in Gran Turismo and we will cover nearly 2000km over the course of the season!! Over 100 cars are eligible (bet'cha didn't think THAT many could fit into one GT tournament right?) making sure that even when this tourney takes off, theres room for everyone...
EDIT: This tournament is on hold pending another tournament that this one is a bit too similar to. It's the GTP Lemans series, in the Long Race Series forum. If you guys like the sound of this, then you should definitely check that out!!
