Simulation mode or Arcade mode?

Simulation mode, because you cant use your own specifically tuned cars in arcade, which is a MAJOR bummer.

Yeah, definetely something to fix in GT5.

Autumn Ring....Christ on a bike, I hate this place... :irked:

Alright, so this takes place in a practice session. No competitiors, right?

Yes, enter Simulation Mode, choose car, choose "Original Circuits", and pick Autumn Ring, then select "Practice". Should have a little helmet by it.
This is what I did, is that correct Danisfast?
Christ on a bike...
:lol:

Yup, but in the race you're welcome to do it in a 'race meeting.'

Oh BTW, I've compiled a points system for the tournament. So its like this...

1st=13points
2nd=10points
3rd=8points
4th=6points
5th=4points
6th=3points
7th=2points
8th=1point

Whoever qualifies pole gets 2points extra.

I'll count points for the warm-up races, but I wont add them to the total at the end of the season. Think of it as a quick, two round championship, in preparation for the real thing next month.

Best of luck everyone!!

Great work. 👍
Will have my qualifying time in soon. The Viper is running great!

Aha, okay. Looks good, then. All I have to wait on is a confirmation on what car I'm driving... :banghead:

A Viper, Mach10? :nervous:

Don't fret, I'm a bit sluggish with my driving. Though this is one of my favorite cars, I haven't had much experience driving it.:sick:
Best of luck to everyone!

Jetboys427,
OK well DUNDA appears to have gone back to the real world for a while, but in my view the DMC is fine. I'll try and get hold of DUNDA but it should be cool.
Good luck

Thanks, mate. ;)

i thought youll would have been posting times, well my xj220 does about 1:09:xxx. Will have the confirmation tomorrow, but post youre times, I wana see whether i need to do some improvements or not. Will post my speed6 time soon.

BTW DUNDA was on holiday, he should be back today.

Great work speed racer, Id really like to see more of you posting times, you can post progess here but obviously your final time must be PM to DANISFAST or I.

Good luck everyone,
Im personally going to try and beat the 1:05 barrier, but its not going to be a walk in the park.

Sorry for disapearing on you guys, I have to do it every couple of weeks, and I didnt go on holiday, dont know were speed racer got that from.

I see people saying we're running on Autumn Ring, but I don't see it in print. perhaps that's why no qualifying laps have been posted?

Here: 1:08.448
Team: Slingshot Racing
Car: #11 Pontiac GTO '03 DB - LeadSlead#2

BTW LeadSlead#2 the track is stated in the first post, you just need to READ,
But great time, gona post my times tomorrow, Im running an M5 and an RX7, at least I can see I got some competition.

There it is! I read that darn post 3 times, and missed it.
I'll edit this later with the Elan's time, if I get the chance, otherwise, she'll start from the back
Team: Slingshot Racing
Car: Lotus Elan S1 '61
DB: LeadSlead#2
Time: 1:11.146

Dismal qualifying... I picked up two seconds switching vehicles.

Qualifications Time: 1'10.174 :yuck:
Team: Vicarious
Car: Black Dodge Charger R/T (1970)
Car Number: #0
DB: Jetboys427

Sweet, thanks for the team info.

No tire wear? :(
Oh well.
I've got my qualifying time in, best I could do, this thing isn't really what I would have used on Autumn Ring. :lol:
Team: Slingshot Racing
Car: Dodge Viper GTS '99
#: 10
Driver: Mach 10
Qualifying Time: 1'10.569
Ran a lot of consistent low 1'11.xxx's, so this is all I can go. Spent 30 laps in the first session, and 20 in the second getting it. :lol:

just wanted to share my times with you guys:

Mazda RX7 Spirit type R - 1'05.871

Bmw M5 - 1'07.250

Dont have a pic of the M5 time yet, but will post up the replays for both these times once I get my memory stick sorted.

I really f&%£ing hate this sodding track, 1.10.7 in my Lotus Esprit. I've decided to drop the GTO in favour of a car more friendly to these kind of circuits, a Mitsubishi Evo VIII GSR.
Anytime you want, DUNDA and myself are accepting race times for the next few days, we'll also try and get the qualification results in this thread soon.
All the best,
Danisfast

first go on autumn ring (what a lousy pick for a first track mates) :) in both cars.
bmw m3 csl 1.10.476
shelby series 1 1.11.585
can see some improvement (apexes, exit speed, settings) but 1.05 will be impossible for me. i hope you all are not wrs/div1 players because then i'll be mrbottomofthelist in this comp.

am i missing something here? what's with the qualifying bit? please help.

LOL yeah sorry bigracer, we've finished qualifying the day before yesterday, but as I've just posted in the other thread, you're welcome to jump in and have a crack at the heats anyway. I also mentioned that we'll be announcing the second warm-up track, which'll only be the one race, instead of the three seperate heats. So watch this space for the announcement tomorrow.
All the best,
Danisfast

second go: csl 1.10.419, shelby 1 1.10.595.
my goal was a 1.10 time for both cars so i'm done for now.
cant wait to see what surprises our uk/sa friends have up their sleeve.
i just realised my car choice is not suited for different types of tracks.
will any city tracks or other non-race tracks be included in the series?
if so i'll consider a last-minute change from the shelby to the evo tme.

Right, a quick update. The race times are due in tomorrow, thats before 00:00 on the 26th of June GMT +1.
Also, as far as the tracks for the season go, the jury is still out on that one I'm afraid. But, the final warm-up race is set for Circuit De La Sarthe 2.
The length of the race and details will be posted in a new thread starting on the 26th of June, marked 2.3 Warm-up Race Heat 4.
I reckon we've got enough people to have a really good tourney, but not to be a pain in the arse, I still need those details!!
Good luck,
Danisfast

dan/dunda: do you pick the times from the board or do we have to submit by pm?

the freshly picked rs4 comes no further than 1.14.102 but then again i only choose it as a 4wd alternative for the great csl. that way i'll be prepared for different kinds of tracks. also with this car i can switch between turbo-2 and turbo-3 setups and stay within the 2.3 ratio (exhaust change), giving it a different long- and short-track character.

La Sarthe???!!!???....NNNOOOOOoooooooo!!!! Damn it! Knew I should have picked the Supra or the Cerbera! :(

...ahh well, maybe it'll all even out when we go to Citta Di Aria! :D

LOL OK, to answer your questions, Yes, we would now like you to PM your times to either me or DUNDA, preferrably DUNDA, as atm he's the only one with verification gear. Also, yes, I can advise you that there will be a nice variety of tracks. It'll mean that no matter what car you pick (except for a 3000GT) you'll have a good chance of winning at least once or twice. Finally, for the tyres, they're unlimited for this race, but that may change in the future. You can be sure that we'll keep you posted though.
All the best,
Danisfast

first go at le mans. when are they taking away last week's 24h garbage? :)

csl 3.38.971 @ 196 mph
rs4 3.38.635 @ 203 mph

very funny result 'cos the beamer is supposed to be faster, but the audi steers like a turbobrick (great, that is) through the curves and the turbo-3 gives it the speed. the csl is more agile but nervous at the wheel.
the power in the bmw is now down to 518 so i reduced the ballast to 22.

potential winners might have picked a car where you can switch between NA and turbo to adjust to different types of race tracks.
