I was testing some cars with my sister in arcade mode today and it was interesting.

I did a a few duels:

- Cadillac Cien vs. Audi Le Mans quattro :The Audi was surprisingly faster in the first ca. 1000 m , but the top speed of the Cien was well above that of the Audi concept. I was thinkin that the Cadilllac would blow the Audi away, but it wasn't quite as i thought.

-Lotus Elise 111r vs. Tommykaira ZZ: Almost no difference !!! Same acceleration, same top speed. It's just personal taste, if u have to choose between the two I think.

- Toyota 7 race car vs Toyota Minolta race car: Altough the 7 has a better power/weight ratio, the Minolta was miles ahead! The 7 just can't put his power effectively on the tarmac (and 5 gears aren't as good for performance as 6).
The difference here was much greater than I expected.

-Subaru Impreza vs. Mitsubishi Lancer: The "overweight" of the Lancer made it slower than the the Impreza . The topspeed was also lower.

Post your duels if u are having some!

Pontiac GTO 5.7 vs. Holden Monaro CVT. Despite the horsepower advantage the GTO posseses, they accelerate pretty similarly, and I think the Monaro handles a little better.

Toyota Supra 97' vs. Nissan Skyline V-spec II 95'. A nice old classic battle dating back to GT1. Acceleration goes to the 'Line of course. Handling and top speed goes to Supra.

Ruf RGT vs. Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Very close battle...the RGT murders the 'vette at a sitting start. RGT barely have better acceleration, and top speed. 'Vette wins in braking, handling [(being less nervous) would win in top speed if 6th gear wasn't so low].

These are my favorite battles.

Cool stuff. I didn't realise the Toyota 7 was so infireor compared to the minolta. I actually found out a little while ago that it really isn't such a great race car. It was in the test course race in gran turismo all stars. It was miles behind, and it was only maxing out at about 207 mph! It's more of a novelty race car really, it just can't keep up with the big boys.

well, it's from 1970, the Group C cars are from 1988 <--> 1992.. there's a huge difference in the driving technology they used in those 2 "periods"

Me and my bro are very competative 👍

A Few Battles we had earlier.

Me in the Toyota Minolta 88C-V against my bro in the Mercedes Sauber c9 around Suzuka he won by 1.456 seconds

Me in the Audi against my bro in the Bentley around La sarthe
I won by 5.598 seconds

Me in the Mazda 787B my bro in the Pagani Zonda Lm race car around high speed ring.
I won by 2.948 Seconds

All our battles were 2 laps coz we didnt have much time as we wanted to start on the Formula GT world.

Hehe, well, only one of my friends is a competitive at GT, but we had some fun battles. We used 5 laps and tyre wear to make it more interesting, my friend opting for harder softer tyres and a pit, I went for harder tyres and no pits. The best race we had was with me in an R8 and my friend in a Minolta round LeSarthe II. We were pretty close until I span off at the end of the stright on lap 3 and ended up 6 seconds behind coming into the pits. Unfortunately my tyres didn't quite last the final lap and I ended up flying out of the last corner backwards. He got past me as I pulled doughnuts trying to creep across rhe line. :D
Also if I want to patronise my friends i'll drive the pace car and constantly block them. :)

Me and -Cheezman- always have races. Our biggest two were:

Spoon Civic vs. Spoon Integra
and
STi vs. EVO

I had a great 20 lap race with a friend at Super Speedway. He won by 0.02 secs in the Minolta Toyota LM against my Jaguar XJ9 LM. The slipstreaming was ace.

Audi S4 vs. the M3. The top end power of the S4 vs the chassis dynamics of the M3 makes for a lot of fun. Take the race to Deep Forest or the 'ring, its pretty hot competition through the sweepers.

Try the Ginetta vs. the Marcos for a bit of fun too.

I've had a laugh racing some older cars (like the BMW 2002 turbo, Lancia Stratos) against newer cars (try some of the European hot hatches). Its surprisingly close.

great idea... i dont get to race against other ppl much tho.

did a race with a mate once tho... his MGF TF against my Fiat coupe turbo... I won by heaps cause he suxorz :P

The most fun we have is running around the test course. I've got my 800+ HP Supra RZ and 3000gt that run pretty close. Slipstreaming is sick on that track! I love getting my buddies when they think they've got me driving one of the minolta around the test course and I run a "street car" (IE black supra RZ), and, end up coming around em!
