Yeah, it is.

I have around 300 cars now, and that Ferrari 250 is also great fun, but it's not that fast. I'd buy the Miura first, it's really fast, and very fun to drive.
Otherwise, the Pagani Huayra is my favorite. It is SO fast, and so beautiful, and handles almost like a racing car.
 
The Jaaaaaaaag is the best, as I've found out in GT5. But I'd be tempted by the new old 250 GTO.
 
those cars, p330, the xj13, tz2, blablabla, wasn´t too good??? i mean, you could get similar weight distribution, aerodinamic charges, power and weigth features from cars born this days and, they werent so good as those... insnt rare?

In GT5 I thought the Miura was a total ringer and never bought one because of that. Got the Jag though, loved it. But it bugged me that you could adjust downforce on it when there were no wings, so I set it all to the minimum I could, trying to turn it into a street car.

As for the 330 and MkIV, those are race cars, so even if you could get power, weight and total downforce similar on street cars (and I'd be surprised if you could), you still don't have the stiffness, balance, or total footprint (rubber), or even particulars of suspension geometry most likely, so I would expect the race cars to be better.

Doubtful to be worth 20 million. But it's not like we have a choice. I just wish I could find a race to pay out a million so I could do it 15 times. (want the Miura this time, it looks more reasonable, I think it's PP is still too high, but it's not out of sight compared to the Countach)
 
I like these cars because of the amount of heritage and history behind each of the vehicles but these cars to me are a bit like Chris Evans buying that 12 million pound (close to 20 million USD) Ferrari 250, which is in the game as well. I don't see a practical use for it much besides the Jaguar but they are more or less a novelty item. Something to show that you made it rich virtually, but I wouldn't really grind non stop for one of these cars.

20 million Cr doesn't warrant anything in the game, if anything 20 million CR should buy you a whole brand, like 20m CR for all the cars in Ferrari, and they throw in the 250 as a bonus. Daihatsu brand would probably be worth 2 CR though..
 
but im refearing to nowdays race cars, the jag turns way better than the peugeot 908, and im asking, is that real?? or PD doesnt want angry people who spend 20M in a piece of junk?...

Does it really? I noticed that with many MR cars and the LMP you have to turn with the throttle applied and at a certain speed, as with F1 cars, you actually have to drive faster to go around a corner as opposed to slowly due to aerodynamics and downforce and with the engine being in the middle rear and such.

I noticed that the Jag does oversteer while doing the Mission race with it, I actually rolled it a few times accidentally letting off the throttle after hitting a curb, a priceless car rolled by a dolt :P
 
i know that, but...is not that difficult, put the 908 and the jag with the same numbers, hot lap both, then tell me...

I don't have either, nor the credits, so I can't, but it sounds very suspect to me that this could be the case.

However, PD does put ringers in, and will often try to coerce players into certain cars over others. Even if, the XJ was that good, it's 20mil. How much is that 908? If you want to see a real ringer, look at the toyota 7. I just can't see any possible explanation for that car's PP to be so high (I think it's higher than any other car save maybe the FGT), nor, why the contemporary and controversial Chapparal 2J would not have similar PP. But it gets worse, the 7 is about a quarter to a third the cost of the 2J. If that's not coercsion.... not only a total ringer, but dirt cheap too!


Andy, I totally agree that none of those are worth the cost. And you could do just fine with cheaper cars. Someone once suggested that this has to do with the fact that credits are being sold for real money. Maybe, and that would suck. Because I like all those cars and want them, not to show off, but because it's my style. (classic, cool, swoopy, if you looked at my GT6 garage you'd see a definite theme going on) Also, I want to use the Miura in the classic super car race. The 512BB sucks to drive. I could mod it, but why. My built 78 T/A will smoke that field, so I could use that, but it's not a "super car". Ditto my stock Cobra, ran it for kicks, but won't use it to actually complete the series. Have the 76 Countach, but fear I might like it too much, the 88 is more my style, but the interior of the 76s is much nicer and it's handling is sweet too. Maybe I could build an Alpine, but I don't see that as a super car. Nor any FR car, even if it has a prancing horse on it. So that leaves the Miura for me. Now all I need is another 13 million credits. :sick:

The Toyota 7 was really hard to control due to how much torque goes to the wheels at once. It breaks traction the minute you even rest your foot, but blitzes on the straights like wind. And it was a reasonable price.
 
I am a bit biased toward the blue GT40 but honestly I would not buy any of them right away. There are so many great cars in the game and you can buy several of them for what that one car costs. There is also a chance that at some point we may see some more events that offer prize cars like we did in GT5. Imagine if you spent your 20 million and then a few days later there is a race series that has that car as the prize. ;)

Yeah, that's my point - faster and more PP than seem reasonable compared to modern, more high tech racers even, and super cheap. It's like PD saying "Don't use that American or Euro stuff, use this Toyota, but if you insist (on using the American or Euro stuff), you'll pay for it! (big time)".
 
20,000,000 credit cars should not exist in the game imo. They make car collecting and pay outs really skewed against you. If it were not for the 20m cars, I'd say the games pay out system, coupled with it's log in bonus, is perfectly rewarding. Given they update with seasonals every now and again, which pay out millions with a 200% bonus, it's actually pretty easy to save money.....that is....until you need or want to buy a 20m car. Then what seemed like an absolute fortune ends up being paltry.
 
DrkPhnyx we were talking about two diferent things, im talking about performance not credits, i found rare that a 60s race car can be head to head with an actual race car in same categories, if im not wrong the (as an example) ferrari p330 categorie evolved to the actuals Lmp... and if you put both cars with the same numbers (not the PP) they run very, VERY close, thats my point.

No, we are not talking about different things. I mentioned credits because I can't afford to buy the cars to run your test. And with that being the case, I find it difficult to believe the claim you are making.

Difficult, but not impossible, because PD does have some ringer cars, cars that are way overmodeled and do more than they should. The Toyota 7 and it's PP being so ridiculously high is an example of that. In GT5 the Miura being so hard to catch in an LP670-4 SV was another.
 
I would say the 250 Gto, but its a little under powered. My second choice would be the Jag Xj13.

Personally I found that the handling is simply amazing, and it had fairly nice sounds. It is still considered by many to be the sexiest car ever made. It is definitely worth the coin.
 
I'd say go with the MKIV or the jag. Those are the best performing. The 330 is gorgeous but I think I'd give the nod to the first two. The 250 GTO I was really looking forward to but it's not very competitive outside of the lower tier events.
