well i suppose that engine will last forever if your driving around at 8500 rpm's all the time, I mean who would want to do anything like save gas mileage or excessive wear and tear on an engine, when you can drive around at redline all the time and sound like a ricer.

No one ever said you did. And in a car that redlines at 5500-6000 do you drive it the same way? Of course not! That's just dumb. You drive it between 1800 and 3000.

Hey, you can make your comments till your blue in the face, but its still not going to change the fact that the S2000 has about as much torque as a 3 hp briggs & stratton lawn mower engine.

And that effects it how? It's still faster in terms of straight line and cornering than anything in its class. Even cars 10 to 15 thousand dollars more expensive. And as for daily driving, why do you need so much torque at low RPM? Are you drag racing off every line?

I agree it has low torque. I'm just wondering why everyone makes such a big deal out of it. I've been in an S2000 that did a series of standing donuts. If you have enough torque to spin the tires without the car rolling forward, why would you need more?

Hey Loud, what do you think the future of the Honda S2000 will be? Will they have more power, or if there is a successor to appear, of some sort.

so u would rather buy a 1991 used nsx for 35k than new s2k?????
And whats so great about nsx, a car with price tag(new) $90k+ and under 300 hp...
If I had the money I would buy new Viper.

BTW. dont get me wrong I do own an s2k :)

If you would rather have a Viper than an NSX, you don't have any concept of ballance. The viper is just a big gimmick, very much like most American big engine sports cars. They are usually highly unbalanced cars. Personally, I would much rather take an all alluminum body NSX, then a big heavy unbalanced beast. However, this is because I find it infinitely more interesting carving corners, then driving fast in a straight line. UIf you would rather drive straight, and never worry about turning, then by all means go for the viper........ If you truly do, own an S2k, I would think you would have a better concept of weight transfer, and ballance..........

Yup i sure would buy a "USED" NSX and i dont think you can buy a "NEW" viper for 35,000.

An NSX, new or used is a better buy than a S2000, provided you can afford the extra running costs. An NSX is a better buy than a Viper, for a few reasons, it's faster on a track, it's cheaper if ou buy it used, but it's cheaper to run eitherway. It's got better handling and a better interior. And finally, it's a lot rarer, you get aded exclusivity.

Looks like a recent acquisition of a house is going to kill my S2000 dreams, at least for another year.

House .... S2000 .... house .... S2000 .... tough choice.

It kinda depends when you say rarer because i am sure in japan you might see one everyday and never see a viper but its the oppposite in america alot vipers and less nsx.

No, because the NSX is hand made production is very low, were talking 300 last year, so even if all of them were in Japan ther would still be rare, ofcourse the car has been in production for 10 years + now and has produced over 1000 in some years but I'm sure thats a damn sight rarer than a Viper, I think theres around 6000 NSX's in the world.

Well here is some pics of my s2k, since that Ive added a t1r exhaust, which I got from s2ki.com group buy.

As much as I like Honda, I still think NSX is not a good power to value ratio(and handling), Viper was just an example,
if I really had a choice I would go with car like M3 or maybe Evo MR, much cheaper and they have better track times than NSX, much better,
infact if any of you had watch Top gear vid with evo, it had the 2nd fastest track time from all of the cars that they tested (faster than murcielago, slower than zonda).

:D :D

Stop being a tard and learn about the Viper before you go off bashing it. Highly unbalanced? Okay keep watching Initial D. That big heavy beast has more power then your little car so it doesnt matter. The Viper is a race car, when it first came out it had 400hp and was pretty much a hand built car. The big gimmic is the NSX all you buy is a weak engine and an okay looking body :D

Damn only 6000.

Thats a guesstimate, there are a lot less than 10k though.

Is that only the Honda versions or both?
