Round #4. Track --> Grand Valley East Section.

Here are the complete settings for the Round:

Arcade Mode Settings (Options):
Race Laps: 25 Laps
Tyre Wear: Mild
Driving Assists: Free
Penalty: None
Time Limit: None

Driving Options:
Transmission: Free
Driving Aids: Free
Tyres: Free
A.I Cars Level: Free

Quick Tune-up:
Power: 0%
Weight: 0%
Top Speed: Free
Driving Aids: Free
Transmission: Free
Tyre Type: Racing
Tyres: Free

The results screen that pops up right after finish dissapears quite fast, so be ready to save it...(take photo & such).

You have one (1) week to submit your time to me (PM). From this Monday to next Sunday (31/7).

Here we are, at Grand Valley East. Another week of racing and excitement. This is a small, yet fast course. So everyone be on your toes.
 
Hey JMS

Can I switch to Opel Astra Touring Car. I downloaded a game save with 1 trillion credits, but it doesn't have any cars unlocked. The Mercedes car is not for sale and I don't wanna race again to win it. (I deleted my previous game data) Besides I don't even remeber where I won it.
Sorry to cause this problem in the middle of the season.

all you need to do is get a mercedes an spend a few thousand to win the small championship at the mercedes dealer.
 
Finished my first race today using the opel astra touring car,00 (pending approval)

Front tire wear is much worse than rear. I used two pit stratergy- RM/RS and then RSS/RS for the last five laps.
Fastest lap- 0'59.168
 
Needless to say, after last week I have been looking forward to this fast little track. Although I guess last week I did pretty well, just nudging out rabbit, great run man! GL u guys!

This is up to you to decide, you are currently 8th with 7 points with 3 races to go.

Ok then. I guess I'll take the penalty. After driving Opel for a race I do like it better than CLK.

Ran another race tonight- overall time in low 26 min range.
 
he returns to grand valley after a horrific accident at the nurburgring. GMR have managed to build a new car in time and plan to do some practice laps in the next hour or so.

**EDIT** just spent 10 laps on RM RS and managed a time of 58.798secs, which could be cut down by at least half a second and spent a further 10 laps of RS RSS and punched out a 57.604, which again was far from perfect.

So sorry I missed this series! :indiff: I'd like to be a "LATE" privateer entrant but am a little "Baffled" by one of the rules. Does fitting a Rollcage to your Sim ride really affect the Arcade version? :confused: ...O.G. :D
 
Well its Thursday nite and I haven't stepped into my Merc yet. I won't have a chance until this weekend, which I hate to do but I wanted to get WRS out of the way first and I have a time there that I can't seem to match. But it will be interesting trying to do both at the same time seen as how they are VERY different cars. As far as the rollcage thing, I just dunno if it affects it or not. On one hand, lets say u just bought a car fresh off the lot. U go to drive it and oops, no rss's like u want, so u go and buy them and there they are in arcade mode. But in theory it SHOULD make a diff.

No it dont change a thing....the rules are kinda old

When I made them I didn know if we where going to drive in sim or arcade...

so the only thing you need is to buy the car....
 
I did 3 races this evening and all were much faster then the time I already have on my memorycard.
But in the first I crashed in the last corner in my 25th lap.
And the other two races in the 19th and 20th lap. :crazy:

I start with RS for the first 6 laps and when pitting change to medium in front and soft at the rear.
Best lap so far 58.7,AI on supersoft -10

When not refueling will that make a difference?
Anyway great race,super fun. 👍
 
Well here is my first go at at it and I screwed up a little. I was running with a top speed of 280 and my tires were RM's pit on lap 10 and then my mistake was to pit on 20, I should have pit at 19 because then I know I can get 5 full laps in with RS's, bummer I need atleast 5 more sec here before I will be close to being satisfied. Fastest lap (with one portion of wheelspin...oops!) 58.190. Gonna rerace it now.

Well anyway, here I go, my lap time is now invalid. Sorry for this guys.
 
Okay so this time I saved my replay and I really doubt I'll beat it because I was hitting right on my marks the whole race only had one instance of AI contact and that was because he crept up on ME out of no where, but it was still minor no sweat. Here's my stats:
Top Speed 280 - great ratio there redlined just b4 turn 1
Tires - RM's pitting on lap 10 and 19, then RS's
Fastest Lap - :58.137, just a TAD faster than before
AI - -10 on RSS's just to keep them pitting and out of my way as much as possible

I did trim just about 5 seconds like I wanted, so I'm gonna submit my time today.

I just did a race, submitting it, maybe I'll have time tomorrow to beat it (which would be easy to do considering the first 1/2 of the race I was still learning the differences for east section)

well this is definetely my favourite track of the season so far, i love it, so fast and flowing, so far its been the most enjoyable. Just completed to runs then. One a 1 stop stratagy with RM RS and the other a 2 stop stratagy with RS RSS, the 1 stop stratagy was 6secs quicker then the 2. Managed a fastest lap of 57.485 on RS RSS, and a total time in the 25min bracket. TIME SUBMITTED.
 
Ditto the remarks by ls2_297. 👍 My THANX to JMS RACING for hosting a GREAT Race! :cheers: My only regret is that you were all three races into the series before I discovered it! :dunce: Will try to get one more attempt in before the deadline but one time is submitted...O.G. :D

Indeed the most fun round so far.
Raced the race 4 times till the finish and had at least 8 attempts with the same intention. :)
 
This is bad. It's sunday and I haven't even transported the OPEL to the Valley for testing. I've got less than 12 hours to practice and race. I've even my SCCA to do still. I went out of town for 3 days and have been working my tail off since I've been back. It's my day off, yet I have a bunch of house work to do. It's one of those days I wish I could stop time to catch up. I have a feeling I'll be up late tonight.
 
Well, I finally found about 6 more seconds just laying around :) Took about 8-10 tries as my DFPro was really having a bad day! :irked: Couldn't get it to "Glitch" anywhere else but it was sure having a tough time with this race! :trouble:

New time submitted...only hope it's ahead of the deadline! :nervous:

I finally got the OPEL to the Valley and begged the officials to open the track so I can run. It took awhile to get my rhythm going again since I haven't driven since last sunday. I had a couple races and ls2_297, I don't know how you did a 1 pit race with medium tyres. I had to pit twice.

Fastest lap is 58.4xx. I'm in the 25 minute stretch if you guys are curious.

WOW!!! Eight drivers within 30 SECONDS after 26 MINUTES of Racing!!!

GREAT Job All!!! Especially ls2_297 👍 It's so good to run with such a great bunch of racers! :cheers: Looking forward to the next round...O.G. :D
 
Some great times there. Congrats to my teammate once again for the victory. O.G., welcome aboard. I know you'll be a tough contender.
