The only films listed that I have seen are Cars and Superman. There are quite a few I haven't heard of too.

I don't think it's been the best year for movies.

I've seen a few of them, I'm watching Blood Diamond this weekend I hope.

Most of the nominations i think are utter tosh, there all "worthy" films. Although i am seriously glad Mark Wahlberg got a nomination, he was class in The Departed (the film was good at best).

Im quite suprised that The Last King of Scotland is only up for 1 Oscar, the critics tipped it to be a big winner of many awards and I do have to say it looks as though it is a cracking film. If you look at the british BAFTA awards its nearly in every catagory......its odd that its not in atleast 2 Oscar ones.

Never the less, what a nomination it is! Best Actor..... I do really think Forest Witaker deserves it and so does the somewhat small Film 4 who produced it. Its good to see some small film companies making a big impact.....

If anyone is interested here is the list of Bafta nominations...

I watched seven movies from that list so far and I enjoyed them all, though some of them not so much. It wasn't the best year for movies but there's still a few titles on the list I want to watch.

These awards were awarded at the Awards on Sunday evening.

The Departed won 4 awards, followed by Pan's Labyrinth with 3 and Dream Girls, Little Miss Sunshine and some rubbish or other with 2.

Winners highlighted in bold.

Between Michael Moore and Al Gore, the Oscar Documentary category is now open to any fiction movie. Next year, Finding Nemo 2 will win for documentary.
