great to have a list now. odd that aus isnt first. maybe now i will remember to watch it this time around.

Wouldn't the Barhrain GP be in the late evening for you?

:)

i'm -6 gmt. almost every f1 race is at an odd hour for me.

Ouch, well atleast you don't have to wait till half 7 for the USGP and the Canadian GP
:)

Don't you just hate the fact the world is like it is sometimes? lol

:)

yeah its a pita sometimes but i always try to remember to be thankfull that i'm alive and free to watch f1. it could be a lot worse for me.

Hmmmmmmm ok then well i wont poke my nose into personal business, anyways back on subject,

British GP is actually in British summer for once!!! (It always seems to rain in July)

:)

The first race isn't in Australia because at that time there is an event right there (don't know the exact name). In 2007 Australia will be the opening Grand Prix again.

Yeah, Australia is hosting the Commonwealth Olympics. Attendance to F1 would be mediocre at best. But, it gives me more time to save up money to go! :D

Yea, Michelin are a generous bunch so they’re just giving tickets out to anyone who wants them.

so when are michilen giving out tickets to the usgp? is that just for those that went last year or can i get a few?

My wife and I got our refund from Michelin months ago for the race tickets. Along with the check they offered us 4 free tickets. 2 tickets for the same seats we sat in (Turn one) for the 06 race and 2 more $85 tickets (which are the cheap seats). We declined the free tickets and I didn't even want to cash the check....but my wife made me.

We are going to book our tickets for next season next month. I've been waiting to see where Toyota finished in the constructors so we can get race seats directly in front of their garage. We have sat at Turn one 3 years in a row, kinda bored with that.

Nearly all the GP's are on at a odd hour for Australia, and even if they arnt most of the time they are shown at 11:00pm at night anyway, sometimes 2-3am.

Well im certainly gonna go to the British GP, im happy its in june aswell, tend to have better weather around then in this area.

:)

well i'm sorry i had to ask but i didnt know for sure. its better to be a fool for only a moment rather then be a fool forever.

No problem, I’m just an ass at times. :p Don’t take me too seriously.

Blake

well i'll freely admit i'm not the greatest mind around... i just wanted to make sure. i dont like just figuring something is one way because i always end up being wrong so i try to ask more now.

The Chinese and Japanese GPs have been swapped, now China will be held on the 1st while Japan will be held on the 8th. :)

Are you sure about that, because there is a big problem with Spa.

Spa-Francorchamps is bankrupt. :nervous:
It’s all about a contract, signed and agreed between the Walloon government and Ecclestone. This contract dictates that every F1 race being held on Spa, the Walloon government must pay 13 mil euros to Ecclestone. :indiff:

The problems started when the Walloon province of Belgium, elected a new prime minister.
The prevoius prime minister of Walloon (southern and french part of Belgium) says he never signed a contract with Ecclestone. And apperently he was right. This contract was signed by 2 other man (brother of 2 ministers) ==> typical Walloon mess!!!!!!! 👎 :yuck:
Nobody never knew how much it costs to orginaze an F1 race at Spa. Now they found out the price of orginazing a race and all the previous parties (ministers etc...) say that they had nothing to do with this contract, although they signed a contract with Ecclestone. :grumpy:

Bottom line, nobody has the money to orginaze an F1 race, so the Walloon government is blackmailing the Dutch government to pay for the dets they (Walloon government) made ==> about 108 mil euros. 👎
Again typical Walloon mess that we, Dutch speaking Belgians, have to pay for.
If we don’t pay, the Walloon government is going to change the name : grand prix of Belgium into Grand prix of Walloon. Let them, I don't care less how it's called. As long it's on the calender.
I said it on another thread, we Dutch speaking Belgians always have to bail out (pay ) the Walloon government. :grumpy:

Don’t get your hopes up too much.

Isn’t it that the promoter that is bankrupt and the Walloon government is trying to pick up the pieces with Ecclestone?

As far as I have read, the government had to lend money (18mil euro) to the race promoter so that he could pay the race fees to the FOM. The race promoter has since gone bankrupt.

So where is all this anti-Walloon sentiment comming from?

Nope. I heard it on the Belgian news, just after writing my previous post, it is the Walloon government that screwed things up, believe me. These are not my words but the words from the Belgian politicians!!! They signed contracts which they couldn't pay for. And after the instalment of Di Rupo (new prime minister), it all came out ===> dets, dets and again dets. That government isn't trying to pick up the pieces, they are demanding (again as allways) that we (the dutch government) pays for all the dets they made. All that money in the first place comes from us and now they are demanding that we pay even more!!! UUuuuhhh, no way.

I just heard that the person who signed the contract said that he didn't read the contract, just signed it. It is a fine of 108 mil euros. This contracts expires in 2010 and all the money is gone, so the Walloon government got a fine of 108 mil, which they expect us (dutch government) to pay.
No, that promoter is bankrupt because he invested a lot of money in this year's race. A lot of Schumacher fans stayed home, so he lost a lot of money. There weren't just enough fans this year whom buyed a ticket. Cost were too high for this promoter and the income was just too low. This has nothing to do with the Walloon government screwing things up, this has been going on for years without us knowing it. But now we know. The Walloo government is demanding that we pay an additional 108 mij euros. On top of all the money they already get every year. Let them fix the mess they got themselves into.

If you were Belgian, you would know. This is off topic, so I am not going to go into this too much. Maybe just this: The dutch speaking Belgians (common people) have to pay taxes. A lot of this money is donated (literally) to the south of Belgium (Walloon). The Dutch government "gives" a lot of money to the Walloons because they are too lazy to get their own. The Dutch government doesn't want to do that anymore and the Walloon government is denying every donation, although everybody knows that they get this money every year (We are talking about an amount that could bankrupt a country. We Nothern Belgians and politicians say, no more. Belgium as a whole is just one big screwed up country.

And the the Hungarian GP is there yet another year. There is a lot of great tracks out there, and some have financial troubles (Spa...). Now, why can´t a boring track have that? Just kidding, but the Hungarian GP is always very boring to watch, so I think it should be replaced by something new. Fuji anyone?

You can't just replace a race because its boring, otherwise China would have been long gone, and perhaps Bahrain.
