As the title states, GMAC has an online drivers test. I just took it and walked away with a 95%. I knew I'd do fairly good, but I didn't think it would be quite that high. Most of the questions are universal, but some may be geared toward the U.S.

I do, however, have an issue with question 10. I'll wait until a few people have taken the test before I start to discuss.

Test away.

I'd make this a poll for the results, but it's too late and I'm too lazy. :)

I missed #1, #3, and #14.

My disputes with the answers are below, so if y'all don't want any help before you take the test, don't read them. ;)

I don't understand #1, because it implies that you're pulling onto the grass or dirt, when many highways have a paved shoulder. I opted for choice "C," even though it's a poorly-written answer and I'm not exactly sure what it's trying to say.

I don't understand #3, because "whenever it's legal" is a cyclical answer (the question is basically asking when using your brights is legal), and "safe" is an ambiguous answer.

I admit that #14 is hard to excuse, but they should have noted that it's mounted on the rear of a vehicle in the question, IMO.

Sorry, bub, but parking lights just don't cut it, even if headlights might make matters worse in heavy smoke or fog. My state even has a law that says that if precipitation is enough that you need to turn your windshield wipers on, your headlights have to be on too.

Right, it's the same law here, but, you're mostlikely better off with nothing, rather than turning your headlights on, in that kind of situation. (Smoke/dust)

Which is better -- having trouble seeing in front of you, or making yourself invisible to all of the other drivers around you?

Of course, this is all situation-dependent.

That's exactly why #10 is a bit off. It's too vauge. It all depends on what's going on around you, to make the best judgement. There's no clearcut answer.

I'd rather see infront of me and not hit anything, rather than slamming into the back of someone I didn't see because I had my headlights on.

Let someone else hit me, it'll be their fault.

I got "95%" despite the fact that I answered them all correctly.

I agree with the people that said that some of those questions were poorly written, and had ambiguous answers. Just like the real license tests 👍

As for question 10, living where it snows entirely too much, idealy you would use yellow driving/fog lights and turn off your headlights. Higher mounted white lights reflect off of the particles in the air and make conditions worse. Yellow cuts through better. You should also leave on your parking lights so anyone approaching from behind will see you.

75% But only because everything is backwards....
Or upside down. :dopey:

Yup, but I felt like complaining about them anyway.

70% because I didn't understand the wording of some of the questions and I'm not familiar with some other things.

85% - #10, where parking lights would be the best choice for dust/fog/etc, but headlights would be best for rain.

I forget which other one I got wrong... Crosswalk one I think, where I put for marked crosswalks only.

So if someone is jaywalking, you can legally run them over? :)

I got a 70% which is funny cuz I got 0 wrong on the license test.

Some of those questions were worded badly. Like the one with an orange sign, it didn't specify that the sign was on a vehicle.
