And I personally like it. The nose was hit or miss on the road car, but the ultra wide fender and the aggressive stance really change everything. No mention yet on what's changed aside the aesthetics, since this is only a prototype.

Low, wide and aggresive. I love it, and I loved ever since I saw a photo on some japanese website (check my avatar).

Edit: Added larger version for those who want to see this "bewty" head on. 👍

that looks more like a Lemans Car than a WRC car with that stance...what a beaut ! I'd love to wrap that bad boy around a tree !

I've like the design since when I saw pics of the stock version. Rally version looks amazing! :)

I agree with Jacks, road car is hard to get used to but that rally version is unbeleivable.

Wouldn't we all!! The best part would be, after wrapping it around a tree, having Prodrive say, "here's another one, off you go!"

I think the new face (even on the road car) looks a great deal better than the old.

I admit I'm still not too sure about the looks of the nose, but the overall shape of the new front is just awesome. I can't wait to see what this car can do against citroen, peugeot, and the likes next year.

Must they have all those fins in the wing? :grumpy: I guess it's ok now that it's not the production version. :dopey:

Those fins create an insane amount of downforce, they're not there for looks, they're there because they work.

:odd: The vertical fins inside the Spoiler on the rear?
Allows them to make the upper wing much much thinner than it would have to be without them. That's one explanation at least...

I just feel like doesn't seem to make sense or look good. Besides IRL and Champ cars run with only two sticks connected to it and they are going 200+ Mph. :dopey:

They're not going sideways at 90mph on purpose, though... that's where those fins come in handy.

Petter Solberg (I think it was him, might have been another Subie driver) said those fins added so much more downforce that instead of flying in the air flat, the car actually tilts backwards in midair because of the downforce produced back there. 👍

Looks good! Especially from back! :D It looks powerful.... :) But I think the front part is kind of weird looking... Why did they change that?

BTW the 2006 production car was in Neste Rally Finland before Subaru had released it! :D Tommi Mäkinen has connections to Subaru so thats why it was in Finland before it was officially released :D

The front looks like that because Subaru's new designer is Alexi Zapatinas, former head of design at Alfa Romeo.

Has been for a while. But yeah, it has really shown through recentley.

we don't need to know HOW it works we just need to if it DOES work 👍

Particularly at Argentina, that front end still looks like it it could chug a few liters when coming into a watersplash.

I agree that it does look gorgeous though, given these pics it will definitely get some attention from fans in tarmac rallies.
