I think they went downhill after the styling of the 2003 R1. The current one looks too long and low and fat in the arse. This and the colours they chose make it look like a sports tourer. It's classy looking, but I don't think it suits the nature of a superbike.

I wish they'd stop with the underseat pipes crap too. They're heavy, miles from the CoG and restrictive. On the WSB R1 (Haga's) only the right silencer does anything, the left is just an empty dummy.

I am sure that that R1 is a fake. The headlights are those from a Benelli TNT but with the lower part cut of.

The exhaust and the back also look fake.

Yea, those R6 pics are right, but the R1 is most certainly not real. Here are official pics right from their site.

yeah, but soon they'll all move to the gp can(like the r6) or the under the bike muffler

I really hope so. It's about time there was some advancement rather than copying, although an under-engine pipe is already done by buell but until they stop using ditch pumps for engines they'll never get the full benefit. The Honda NR750 did underseat pipes first back in the late 80's and now they're doing it again now. Great original thinking R+D guys, well done.

Romour has it the 2006/7 ZX10R will have a bellypan silencer, or stubby GP style item.

the new zx-10's have atv style pipes. their undertails but their spread out. its weird. but yeah the r1 i originally posted is a concept. the official ones were posted by jnasty, yamaha is alsa making a r6s this year. it has smaller brakes and a different compression ratio the the regular r6, i forgot to check the price diference

Did you also see that they are offering an R6S now. It is basicly every R6 before the 2006 offered with no upgrades, and they are now going to sell it cheaper. My guess is they will knock a thousand off the old retail price.

The new R6 didn't have me completely sold until I really stared at it. The pipe looked funky to me, but now I find myself attracted to it. An aftermarket pipe is really going to look good there. The exhaust though is going to be everywhere, meaning there is no way to get around smelling like your bike after a good ride. (It already happens to me, and I have a old side mount.)

The 50th aniversary is nice only because of the upgrades they put on it. I don't like the Yellow. Its so not Yamaha. But maybe thats what makes it cool. I want to see all of them in person. I will touring through a dealership soon. Not in the interest to buy. (Still satisfied with my current bike) but in the interest of curiousity.

I love the back end, the sharpness of it just conveys speed to me. Like a razor ready to cut through any air.
