Did you also see that they are offering an R6S now. It is basicly every R6 before the 2006 offered with no upgrades, and they are now going to sell it cheaper. My guess is they will knock a thousand off the old retail price.
The new R6 didn't have me completely sold until I really stared at it. The pipe looked funky to me, but now I find myself attracted to it. An aftermarket pipe is really going to look good there. The exhaust though is going to be everywhere, meaning there is no way to get around smelling like your bike after a good ride. (It already happens to me, and I have a old side mount.)
The 50th aniversary is nice only because of the upgrades they put on it. I don't like the Yellow. Its so not Yamaha. But maybe thats what makes it cool. I want to see all of them in person. I will touring through a dealership soon. Not in the interest to buy. (Still satisfied with my current bike) but in the interest of curiousity.
I love the back end, the sharpness of it just conveys speed to me. Like a razor ready to cut through any air.
