Of course Schumi messing up has nothing to do with luck, that is his own fault! But he did mess up and because of that, he ended up 2nd, which in my meaning is being bad luck for him! If he didn't mess up and ended up on Pole, then it would have been good luck!!

MS

...what? If he didn't make mistakes on his qualifying laps he'd have got pole position and probably won the race. That wouldn't be good luck, that'd be good driving. The fact that he did mess up and didn't win the race because of it wasn't bad luck, it was bad driving. Luck had very little to do with Schumacher's performance in the race yesterday. The only luck you could say Ferrari had was when the safety car came out and they queued their drivers up, that was outside of Schumacher's control but if he hadn't messed up in qualifying he'd have been in front of Felipe in the queue and would have got out ahead in the race. Again, the fact that he was behind Massa was due to bad driving in qualifying.

Again, what's up with your sig? Is it another mistake in your stats or are you anticipating him being champion again?

Basically, if you don't mess up, you do well. If you mess up, you do badly. Luck doesn't come into it. If the car messes up, it's bad luck, as that's outside your control. But Michael made several mistakes throughout the weekend, and that's bad driving, not bad luck.

I hear what you guys are saying alright! You are just not getting what I am on about! Oh well, bad luck for me!

amp88: You figure out what my signature means, surely it's not that hard to comprehend!

Also, if you don't like me or my opinions, then maybe you should place me on your ignore list!

I think everyone knows what you're on about and you're entitled to your opinions. Blaming "bad luck" for M Schumacher's mistakes is taking things a bit too far though.

I figured your sig meant that you thought Schumacher would take the title this year, but as you've been wrong in the past with stats I wasn't sure...

It's not that I don't like you or your opinions, it's just that you seem like the stereotypical fanboy (or fangirl in this case, as you've pointed out). Schumacher lost the race, not bad luck. No one will take you seriously if you're so blatantly one-sided in your opinions. I don't put people on my ignore list :)

I think it was Old Geezer who originally said:

"You can tell a fanboy, but you can't tell him much!"

Or fangirl, as the case may be.

And I can't find the original quote (stupid search button).

I am not blaming bad luck for Michael's driving mistakes! I am saying that it is bad luck that he messed up, well it is not exactly good luck is it! SO, you are not getting my meaning! Ka kite ano..

if they where only wanting schumacher to win they would have left Massa out and risked the safety car only staying out one lap to help Schumacher, yet they didnt.

what about last season when they told barachello to stop & let him by

They would've done, but with Fernando between the 2 Ferraris at the end, the result would still've been the same - Alonso getting 2 more points than MS. The actual number of points was irrelevant. At the beginning, Massa was romping away into the distance, faster than Michael, and it was too early to tell what might happen, so he stayed there.

I think what you mean is that it was bad luck for you that Michael messed up. amp88 and I thought you ment was it was bad luck for Michael.

It seemed with 4-5 laps to go, that Michael Schumacher was on the wrong line for the braking zone for Turn 8. The in-car camera shows him behind Fernando, but while the Spaniard was on the right-side of the track, MS was clearly towards the left-side...not the place to be for a downhill quad-apex left turn. He had to lift, and he lost his best chance to make up ground on Alonso.

Even MS makes mistakes; although it should be said he was having trouble on other occasions thorugh that complex, running wide on exit twice before.

It looked like he was trying to pass Alonso right there, which was never going to happen in a billion years. That was a horrible decision on the part of MS. He's not infallible. Oh wait, it was "bad luck" that you can't approach a 210 degree, quad-apex, 170 mph corner on the inside line :dunce:.

dude it happens lol. u get desperate. you're mentally and physicly exhausted and you take risks. :p i feel like he made quite a few mistakes trying to pass but it was still a very impressive fight overall :) very good race and congrats Massa :D

Anyone know what happened to Albers exactly? i guess i should read the thread lol. lol schumacher is probably very angry. and alonso had a sly smile on his face at podium :p

Christijan Albers, Midland (DNF):
"This could have been a very good race for us. We put in a strong qualifying performance yesterday, and our race pace allowed us to fight for positions. I can definitely tell now where we're gaining time on the others and where we're losing time, so we have to work on that. But overall, I think it's been very positive, because we're catching up to the cars ahead. It's just a shame that we made a mistake during the second pit stop. At the end, though, I made a driver error: just going a bit too wide and touching the grass, which caused me to slam pretty hard into the guardrail. My shoulder is a little sore, but otherwise I'm OK."
He was having a good race until he went off.

yeah it looked like he was pushing very hard. i wish that someone had told him to calm down a bit over the radio.
