So let me see if I dig you, YSSMAN...
Ford Mustang... and Giugiaro?
That would be like GM hooking up with Pinnafarina to design their Corvette line! This is American attitude meets European style. Part of me says that I prefer the boxiness of the 2005-ish Mustang than this. Another part of me says that this was a case of a good car falling into the wrong hands. Its side detail is amazing. It's like a car that will beautifully slice through the wind like a Peugeot 406 or something. Its rear is the biggest draw back. I would have liked the classic taillight design to remain as is. Or at best, maybe thin up the taillights and move to some chrome designs to outline the lights. I likely would have seen some smaller auxillary lights like with the high-end recent Mustang. This is a case in which curves don't always work. I tend to prefer the boxy front of America's Mustang than this Giugiaro model. If anything, maybe keep the boxy front and just work with a more streamlined and more beautiful model. If you're going to make a beast beautiful, try being beautifully aggressive. The one thing I'm not going to say is "you see? This is what happens when you get a non-American designer or firm to design American cars." Most of you know I'm a "citizen of the world" kind of person. It isn't as great of a design. I don't hate it, but I'm not awed by it. So out of 100% approval, I'm giving this design a very balanced 85% approval. Nicer design cues would have resulted in a much better approval score.[/COLOR]
