Visually, this is an improvement in some areas, and a step back in others...

Am I the only one who thinks Infiniti's designs range from boring (G35) to appalling (M-series)?

They're just soft, blunt, and are either mis-proportioned, or have weirdly-shaped parts...
No, your not the only one. I think the proporitns of the car are off, it's not a totally bad design, theres some good ideas in there, but it's not been applied in a way that makes me even think, not bad. And I've said it before, but I need to say it again, what the hell were the designers thinking when they put thoes bubbles on the lights.

The old G35 Coupe was cute.
The Sedan left me completely disinterested.
The M is a work of art though, and I'll be damned to hear otherwise.

The proportions, the heft, the lines, the inside and out, it is a great, great car.

I'd still take a 335ti.

Love those German straight sixes.

I still say the Germans do it best. The 330i may be a lot slower and a little less spunky on the track, but it is a much more involving drive, presuming you didnt equip the active seats, suspension, steering, etc bullcrap.

I'd still take a 330i over most lux sedans (new CTS might change that), but the G35 has ALWAYS been second choise in my book...

Audi RS4, G35, Subaru WRX STi (counts as a saloon right? :sly:), and then a 3-series BM for me...but the new 3-series is somewhat bland but better looking than the normal 5-series and any 7-series. I'd still rather own the Audi or G35.

CTS sucks. LOL just kidding but I just googled it and its huge. Its the size of a audi A6 and bmw 5 series. Arent those its rivals?

The Caddy CTS is technically meant to take on the 3-series, while the STS handles the 5-series. But recently, the CTS has kinda served double duty, generally when in V-series form. The origional intent of the CTS-V was indeed to go after the M3, but being that the CTS was larger, it ended up going after the M5... But now that the STS-V is out, the CTS-V has gone back to beating up on the M3 once more...

What I was going to say. 👍

I like it. I think they messed up a few pieces – the headlights don’t look anywhere near as good as the M’s, the wheels are a terrible parody of the M’s slick wheels (the M Sport has, quite possibly, the most gorgeous wheels in existence), and the bulbous taillights are rather strange – but otherwise it’s a nice package. Chris Bangle wishes he could do flowy design as well as Infiniti does.

Ive just noticed...the wheels do look awful.

They were obviously trying to be clever by creating a hybrid between the wheels on the base M car and the wheels on the M Sport, but it turned out lousy.

What's this? You say "beating up on the M3" as if the CTS-V is better than it, or something. As if...... ;)

 aaahahaha so true. Wth!

CTS-V is better than M3, what are you talking about? ;)

Actually the CTS-V is pretty close with the M3, people don't give it enough credit and people give the M3 way to much credit.

Also that M Sport is one sexy looking car, I really like Infiniti. It still boggles my mind how Infiniti has such nice looking cars and Nissan has such ugly ones.

I give the M3 all the credit it deserves, and for me it would probably be a pretty tough choise between it and a CTS-V, but by days end the CTS-V has been outperforming the car for some time now. Of course, the 70HP advantage and the newer technology built specifically to beat the M3 puts it on-top, but things will probably change once more when the new M3 arrives.

The 350Z isn't ugly, the Maxima isn't ugly, and the Titan isn't ugly. :p The rest are debatable...still they are solid as rocks and last forever.

Titan and rest of the Nissan Trucks = shows that Nissan cant design trucks. They all look the same.

And Ford, Dodge, and GM don't? Here let me mail you a coupon from Walgreens for some reality pills. Incase you have not noticed almost every company is going for a "corporate face" look--even some European and Asian companies. Saying they all look the same still doesn't mean they are ugly or aren't reliable transportation. 👍

Well if the csl laptime is anything to go buy the M3 kills most cars with alot more power.

The CTS-V isnt the best handling car out there. It only keeps up with the M3 or sometimes beats it because it has a 70hp advantage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzLVhtfPf2w&search=cts-v

In that video against the S4 it would pull away on the straights but in the corners the s4 would catch up. In the wet it would have been a no contest really. The S4 is nose heavy as it.

The 350Z isn't ugly but the rest of them are. And the only Japanese pick-up anyone should even think about buying are the ones from Toyota, Honda and Nissan suck when it comes to making them.

You'll have to compare the Super V to the CSL. The CSL is a road legal race car. I was taking about the M3 vs. the CTS-V. The M3 is a hopped up 3 series, the CTS-V is a hopped up CTS.

How about you compare the cts-v to the RS4 then?

Because the CTS-V was compared to the M3 by someone else. Also the RS4 is not only AWD, but it's quite a bit more. CTS-V starts at 51 thousand and the RS4 starts at 66 thousand. Price is a factor in a car.

if audi wanted to they could price it the same as the cts-v but dont need to.

What has the fact that the RS4 is AWD has got to do with anything?

AWD = better cornering ability I believe. So it has a lot to do with it. And if they could, they would, since no one is buying cars right now.

And if they could, they would, since no one is buying cars right now.

No they wouldnt. And the RS cars are pretty much all sold out for the next year or two. In the UK the RS4 are trading hands for up to £10k over list price.

And awd is a big advantage in the wet but more often than not a disadvantage in the dry when being driven by a highly skilled racing driver.

I can't say anything for Europe because I don't live there. Cars aren't sell well in America because of rising fuel costs and other economic factors. So no RS4's aren't selling in America and I've seen one on the road in the past 6 months while I've seen a ton of CTS-V's.

But since this is off topic as hell and has nothing to do with the G35, I don't care anymore. And since we've established that comparing things to Europe from America is pointless I suggest you drop it as well.

lol  Because blazing has only seen one RS4 in the past 6 months, theyre not selling

RS models are very low production. Theyre not trying to emulate BMW's success with the M3. The UK only gets allocated 150 RS4's a year. And Audi's have been selling in america because I have the figures in front of me which says theyre sales have increased 23%.

Infact all of the german car makers sales have been increasing steadly apart from mini.

Actually no cars are selling, actually nothing expensive is really selling. Quit thinking you know about America, because you don't. And if you have the figures why not just post them up instead of saying you have them.

Audi might be increasing in Europe, but I doubt they are in America. No body is going to buy an expensive German car when they have to pay for a house, college for the kids, etc. In America, something like 1% of the population controls 95% of the money. This is why cars aren't selling. Not because I've seen one.

But as I said before, lets drop it ok?

Back to the G35 alright

So mr blazing doesnt belive me that all of the major german car manufacturers are posting record profits for car sales in america. So let me just post those figures and sources shall I. Bear with me.
