You guys know the rules... Oh, and lets try to be respectful in this one too.

The Cadillac CTS

The FAW Vita C1

Have at it guys...

I'll be voting for the locally built Cadillac, the car that has finally given American luxury buyers a reasonable reason not to get that BMW or Mercedes. It looks great, drives quite well (that some BMW lovers here can confirm), and actually comes at a fairly decent price. Just, uh, watch the options...

Between the CTS and the new Lincoln MKS, things are finally looking up for American luxury car companies.

Although the FAW was my nomination in the China thread, I have to go for the CTS as objectively it's likely to be a better car, and the China market in the end is not one relevant to me until more manufacturers bring their products to Europe.

If I'm being honest though, neither car really interests me.

Have to agree with you. My vote went to the CTS.

I won't be voting on this one. The CTS is a piece of crap unless you get an expensive model. The Chinese car may actually be better put together than the base-model CTSes we saw at the dealership.

But, I can't vote for the FAW because I literally have never heard of it.

FAW, who?

I'm voting for the CTS, pretty much by default. Although, I've heard that they aren't bad cars (even off the forums....). And the looks (at least the front) have really grown on me. I think it's a pretty handsome looking car.

I won't vote on this one much like the S2000 one, since I don't want to make the gap too big. :D

What he said ^, so I went for the Caddy.

I first started not to vote, because it really isn't that hard a decision for the majority of us, but having driven the CTS (and referring to the thread where I test drove it), I was very impressed. Still can't get over the grill or the 2 ugly ass models coming later.

I would not dare vote for a Cadillac, they are for pimps. Not saying that people are one.

Wooo, at least someone voted for the FAW! (Says the person who nominated it, and has now abandoned it...)

I still don't understand you.

Cadillacs are for pensioners and old ladies.

That, or they're for the crazy people who buy into the idea that GM has finally given us a sedan with a chassis, engine and transmission to rival the Europeans, a pretty reasonable price, and great build quality to boot. I'd have it in a heartbeat over both of the Japanese competitors, the only cars to really give me worry would be the 3-series and the MKS. Two polar opposites with the CTS in the middle.

Cadillac. I doubt the chinese car will be of great quality and refinement, and, if comparable to any car in the competing brand's history, I'd say Cimmaron would be closest.

I voted for the Chinese car because it has the following I like:
  • -Looks better than the CTS on the outside
  • -Is cheaper than the CTS
  • -Will get better MPG than the CTS
  • -Is more practical than the CTS
  • -Doesn't have the ugliest grille on a motorcar today
  • -Is proportionate to its shape
  • -Has the same level of build quality on the interior <-- joke... :D

Cadillac has shifted their constituency a bit to the hip, younger, rapper side a bit. Especially with the Escalade.

However, I think the most ballin' gangstas will still prefer a 300C or a Charger.

Crazy indeed :D.

Probably because they can get one for a nice rebate nowadays. (and ridiculously big wheels seem to fit well under them. I've seen what were probably 22"s or 24"s under a 300C.)

Haven't seen as many gargantuan-wheeled Cadillacs, and I wonder if gargantuan wheels can fit under them well. I don't doubt the Escalade continues to be poplular with the South-Side crew, but I've not seen that many CTSs...those tend to be in the hands of middle-aged folk with a fair bit of money.

 I never would have dreamed of that. But I guess they can turn anything into pimp-mobiles these days.

That needs a better two-tone paint job, spinners and scissor doors before he's rollin with the pros.

Psst.... That's not a Cadillac... ;)

How could that have fooled me? :dunce: But I still think it's ridiculous to put overly massive chrome rims on your car.

You can definetly tell that this is a pimp's car

Who doesn't?

Doesn't mean I hold anything against someone who owns a given car known for having that type of thing done yet DOESN'T DO IT... >_>

Oh, and, er... There's a difference between a pimp and an idiot.

The reason why I don't like people putting oversized rims on a car is because that is being disrespectful to the car. You can also tell what type of personality they got if they prefer big rims too.

Isn't that G8 the Sema special with a 427 in it? Lose the black, lose a couple of inches of wheel and it's pretty sweet.

Changing the rims is disrespectful to the car? What?

BTW, what kind personality do folks have if they like large rims? Honestly, how can you tell? Or are you just going to stereotype them?

A little bit of the two, 2 of my neighbors like big rims and both of them are bad influences, one of them is in jail for 4 years so yeah I'm going to stereotype

I voted for caddy. I don't want to see anyone getting killed in that 4-wheeled paperbag.
