We swiftly move on to Round Seventeen.

Lewis has a 5 point lead of Felipé. If Lewis outscores Felipe by a couple of positions then the title is pretty much his. Can Alonso win a third race on the trot? Will Lewis have another calamity like last year?

They might have to, you cant use your engine change in Brazil.

What channel can I watch it at Spanish TV?

well im hoping that ferraris engine problems for the season have passed because this is not the time to be having them. but if hamilton can beach his car in pitlane again i will laugh my ass off

Without a doubt I am cannot wait for this race. I support Massa but I don't think that Lewis will trip up again. Remember last year that before he 'spun' into the gravel he was by far on the pace and really dominating the race.

Although I do feel that Massa will be quicker compared to last year, the Ferrari is the car to have. Will Alonso do it again? Not sure.

My brother and I have started a video about the Formula 1 where we hope to cover quali and the races. Please can you have a look see, it is called From the Couch http://www.from-the-couch.com and we hope that one it turns out be to be a great source of Formula 1 opinion :)

Hamilton - 84
Massa - 79
Kubica - 72

So ...

If Hamilton wins, Kubica is out, even if he gets second. And Massa is out too if he doesn't get at least 4th

If Massa wins, he'll only take the championship lead if Hamilton doesn't get to the podium (if he gets 4th they'll have the same points, but Massa has more wins). Kubica only remains a championship contender if he finishes second.

Ideal result to make a "hot" Brasil GP

Victory for Kubica - 82 points
4th place for Massa - 84 points
DNF for Hamilton - 84 points

And it can all be possible with a little help from the stewards. ;) ;)

This situation screams out 2007. Hamilton feeling the need to defend himself. In my opinion last year I put it down to lack of experience but this year there is no excuse. That's not the mind of a champion. He should get his head down and let his driving do the talking I hate the fact he thinks he needs to tell everyone these things.
I want Hamilton to win this year just for the fact to get it out of the way. He is a great driver no doubt but I once he gets one out of they way we are off. Personally I think Massa should win because, although I have always been highly critical of him, you cant deny he is a racer.

I just hope the FIA keep their nose out so we can watch the drivers drive for the championship.

The final Asian circuit of the year is here at Shanghai. I jokingly called this track as "voluptuous." It has a nice set of curves... just be careful racing around those curves. There are a lot of sweeping corners. On a motorcycle, I fear trying to stay on a bike to properly lean in the corners without giving too much throttle to get thrown off the bike. The four-wheel concern is about handling. The first portion of the track is kind of like going into a spiral. Only that this sweeping right spiral merges into a slight sweeping left spiral. Face it. You need handling here as well as good acceleration and top speed. If your car handles like a stock car or has the top speed of a rally car, you're better off staying in the pits. Image Space (makers of rFactor) included two short variations of this track. The shortest variation is left-right, stop-and-go racing. The moderately long course has you with a little more top speed. I think the most crucial corners on this track are Turn 9, Turn 11 and 12, and especially Turn 14. Those specific sections are very easy to overshoot. So you need to drive carefully. Also, you want to be careful trying to make any bold overtaking manuvers in these corners. Trying to pull a late breaking move out of these corners are possible only as long as you're able to recover soon enough.

So my picks for this race? I have a bad time making some good picks. I didn't choose Alonso at Singapore or Fuji. This time, I'm including him as well as Lewis Hamilton. So I'm not picking any car of Scuderia Ferrari this time.

I know all the hype is about Massa and Hamilton right now but i really do hope Kimi can repeat his victory again this year in China.

As for the championship, I really do hope Ferrari/Massa can take it

I'm hoping Kubica can prove to be a dark horse here. He's an outside chance, but still a mathematical possibility, and given the past few races we've seen, Massa isn't as good as he could be, and Hamilton seems to be over-eager as he was last year. The Pole really needs a few results to go his way as he's twelve behind Hamilton, but I'm hoping he can do it.

It certainly is a possibility, especially if Massa and Hamilton touch in the first corner (Senna / Prost style). Not that I would want this to happen, but it could.

Oh Shanghai, Shanghai. Brings back a lot of fond memories from last year. From Hamilton's off at the entrance of the pits, to Vettel's amazing 4th place finish and STR's first point of the season and having both cars finish in the top 6. 👍 Yeah, nothing amazing ever happens here in Shanghai. ;)

Well I'm hoping for Kubica to perform well here, hopefully he doesn't retire like he did last year. As for Hamilton and Massa, they are going to mess up somehow in qualifying or in the race one way or another. I so totally hope that Kubica will pull out something amazing in the race. Alonso may be playing a role in the championship here, with his winning streak from Singapore and Fuji, nobody is gonna deny him of another win in Shanghai, and he did say earlier that he would do anything to help Massa, so anything could happen in the race...... :D

My prediction:
1st Kubica
2nd Alonso
3rd Vettel
4th Kovalainen
5th Trulli/Glock
6th Webber/Coulthard/Bourdais
7th Heidfeld
8th Räikkönen

I certainly wouldn't wish it on anyone either; when the run-off area is tarmac, both drivers might end up careening into the wall. I think both Hamilton and Massa are cut from the same cloth in that they tend to get a little impetuous. Massa seemed to have exorcised that demon, but it has reared its ugly little head recently. Hamilton, on the other hand, seems to be trying to win the championship as early as possible, and while it would be nice from a driver's point of view to take it early and not have to worry about it in the final few races, in Hamilton's case it seems to have led to a series of very costly mistakes. He did it at Shanghai last year, and repeated his efforts at Fuji. He needs to learn that sometimes it might be better to take second place and get valuable points rather than try and make a pass when there isn't really a gap there at all.

But Kubica, on he other hand, has certainly had his head down. He's been quietly consistent and has stayed out of trouble. If he banks some good points here in comparison to the others - a podium at the very least - he may well be a force to be reckoned with in Brazil.

DNF Hamilton (retired from the race from an accident)
DNF Massa (retired from mechanical failure in mid race)

;)👍
DNF Hamilton (retired from the race from brain fade by driver)
DNF Massa (retired from the race from brain fade by team)

Better.

Major  at all you guys still wanting kubica to win the championship!

I can't imagine it would do the soft-core of fans any good if Kubica came out of nowhere and won the championship.

Kubica to win with Hamilton 3rd. Massa to retire. No points for him means Hamilton would lead Kubica by 8 points going into the last round.

Not close enough but the best I can work out to get Massa out of the hunt.

Nothing personal against Massa but any driver that gains as many points as he does through incorrectly applied penalties cannot be allowed to win the championship.

Incidentally Kubica has the highest average finishing position of any driver on the grid.

He's done a superb job in a car that Sauber-BMW stopped developing properly after Canada. 👍👍

For Hamilton to win the title, he can do one of the following:

If Hamilton wins, Massa needs to be 5th or lower
If Hamilton finished 2nd, Massa needs to be 7th or lower
If Hamilton finishes 3rd, Massa can't score.

Anything else and it goes to Brazil. One thing to point out also is that Lewis is on a new engine this weekend, but Massa's is on its second race.

That's a long straight for an engine on it's second race.

Then again Massa will have a new engine in Brazil and Hamilton's engine will be on its second race.

If Hamilton finishes higher than 3rd then Kubica would be out. That's assuming Kubica wins the race.

I would like a 6th team and 8th driver to record the win. Toyota would be the most likely candidate but I can't see them winning this race after finishing no higher than 5th on their own personal track last time out.

And nothing personal against Hamilton, but anyone who can't tell the difference between red and green lights doesn't deserve to drive, much less win the Formula One World Championship. Hell, I'm red/green colour-blind myself, and while it's not so severe that I see them both as the same colour, I at least know that when I'm at a set of traffic lights, the top one means stop and the bottom one means go. I don't go running into the back of people because of it ...

Hamilton did not gain points by running into the back of the Ferrari did he?
