I would like Kubica to win the championship, although its an outside chance and basically something crazy would happen to eveyone else but I think he would thoroughly deserve it.

Failing that I would like Alonso to win the last 2 races

This time last year not many people thought that Kimi would win the championship. Anything is possible.

Alonso winning the last 2 races would be amazing. I could go with that as long as Vettel gets a podium finish.

Sorry to go off topic here for a second, but apparently the French Motorsports Federation(FFSA) have said that they will not finance the 2009 French Grand Prix. So we may be saying goodbye to Magny-Cours after all.:(

Thank God!

its an ok track for touring cars and maybe even F2000's and F3's but that track is horrible for modern Formula 1 cars that have a hard time passing each other already

And nothing personal against Hamilton, but anyone who can't tell the difference between red and green lights doesn't deserve to drive, much less win the Formula One World Championship. Hell, I'm red/green colour-blind myself, and while it's not so severe that I see them both as the same colour, I at least know that when I'm at a set of traffic lights, the top one means stop and the bottom one means go. I don't go running into the back of people because of it ...

Really that's funny because I can remember a certain driver getting disqualified at the 2007 Canadian race for leaving the pit lane when the red light was showing.

Now who was that again........oh yes its was Massa. Hope you will be applying the exact same logic to him.

Fisichella was also DQ'd for the exact same thing, Kubica did however stop - the FIA actually admitted the light should have been showing green as the pit lane was open, but they also said that as it was red the correct thing to do was stop.

At least Massa had the decency to not ruin the race of 2 other drivers.:sly: Meh I believe they're both guilty of pitlane stupidity, but I personally believe that Massa has driven a better season. Kubica has driven better than both of them though.:)

I hope to god pretyt much everyone here is wrong and massa doesnt get 0 pts due to an accident, but rather gets more points than Lewis :)

That would make me happy, but I hope Kubica manages to pull out a win somehow, with Lewis not scoring any points.:sly:

Oh I don't disagree that both drivers have had a good share of daft incidents, and that's the point that "Do you race?" seems to miss. At times he is so busy having a pop at Hamilton that he forgets that just about every driver on the grid has had a similar share of 'daftness'. (I could pass comment that Massa has however ruined the race of his main championship rival - but I don't believe either action was a deliberate act - simply mistakes that happen to all drivers from time to time).

I can clearly remember the MS incident at Monaco in his last season when he happened to stop towards the end of qualifying, ruining Alonso's flying lap. That was either the single most cynical act by a driver ever or the result of a mistake. If you accept the latter it clearly shows that even the most experience driver can and does make stunningly strange mistakes from time to time. Its a fact that some members here seem only to happy to forget, expecting perfection from all, something that will never happen (and how damn boring would the racing be if they were all perfect).

Personally I would agree that overall Kubica has been one of the better drivers this season, but it terms of highs and lows I would have to put Massa and Hamilton on par, both have made mistakes and both have driven well below ability at times.

Interesting poll results so far on F1.com

Which of the three title contenders would you most like to see win the 2008 drivers' championship?

Code:
Lewis Hamilton 25.51%
Robert Kubica 37.89%
Felipe Massa 36.59%

Or should that be Pole results?

Looks more like Popularity from the last race then anything.

First: A well worded post, you made your points quite intelligently.👍:)

Personally, you'll still never convince me that Hamilton has driven better than Massa this season, Massa has been quite incredible apart from Silverstone really. But Kubica hasn't been just one of the best drivers, he has been THE best, especially be to closer to the championship than Kimi Raikkonen was at this point, in a BMW that stopped development after Canada. Simply incredible.

And Hockenheim ;) But I agree, Massa has had a better season this year in my opinion, though he has made his own blunders in years past that equal Hamiltons.....

And I second a YAY for no more Magny-Cours, the race this year was one of the few that returned to the F1 of not so long ago, processional and boring. That track definitely needs to go....perhaps we will see Montreal get back into the schedule somehow?
I don't see any tracks that would be able to step up for the Grand Prix de France title just yet...

Hockenheim wasn't so bad, he was at least on the podium.:sly:

Maybe the Le Mans track(La Sarthe?) could step in, though that incredibly long straight would strike absolute terror into the hearts of constructors everywhere. Especially Ferrari.

Does that mean Hamilton will get more penalties?

well heres my prediction

1. raikkonen/alonso (one of these 2 will be first most likely but both wont podium)
2. kubica
3. Massa
9th or below. hamilton

will make the last race of the season another exciting one to watch like last years where you have to watch until the last minute the tennsion was so high.

Well that was not what everyone said, everyone said that it better be Kubica scoring more points than those two clowns. :sly: Lets face it, with all the scandal and controversies between Massa and Hamilton throughout the year, I don't think both of them actually deserved their title. More power to Kubica and BMW Sauber to make a change........ 👍

Transcript of the drivers press conference today, with Alonso, Hamilton, Raikkonen and Kubica. A very, very interesting read, especially Part II :D

Meh, usual rubbish press questions and the usual "no comment" or "i dont think about that" answers. Not that I expected anything different, but some better questions would have been nice which allowed some interesting opinion or answers rather than "do you hate Hamilton" "no comment"

You know, it will probably be sod's law and all the main contenders for the championship will DNF in this race! .. probably due to some crazy rain incident..

If Kubica wins this race then things will be really interesting!

Robin

Why is everyone thinking Kubica will suddenly come out of nowhere and clinch the title?

At the moment, their car is the fourth best car, after Renault. Kubica's second place was thanks to a stupid and idiotic Hamilton that dragged Raikkonen with him. Kovalainen with a failure, and Massa making a dumb move. If all of this wouldn't have happened, Kubica would never have gotten a better result than 6th...

Really, this same situation isn't going to happen twice or even three times so I don't think Kubica has a chance ;) Don't get me wrong though, there's nothing wrong with supporting and hoping for the promissing Pole, but I think he will have to wait for his title untill 2010 (Seeing that we don't know how any of the teams compare to eachother for the next season...)

china gp:
the good thing is that BMW had great pace last year there, if you remeber Kubica was on pace for winning the race when he retired because of mechanical failure..plus I think Massa is really driving below his abilities when he is under pressure and Lewis? well,Lewis is Lewis, we all remember what happened last year..

@ F1.com poll: there must have been flood of polish users clicking there, we're good at it ;) I remember before our game with germany on European Championships we were all over their websites , all polls were ours, shame it didn't work that well in the game..

@ Bran Turismo: Come on! you can't deny the fact that his defence against Kimi in last stint was just pure luck.. and you should also remember that he lost many points in singapore because of closed pits & in australia because of Kazuki's rear punt.. I'm not saying that other drivers also didn't have some problems with luck but this is racing,so until we see chequered flag at Interlagos : "The Heat is On!!"

Forza Kubica!! :)
