Based on the hugely successful V8 Vantage, the V12 Vantage will feature a 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS), and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque with a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h) and 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 4.2 seconds.

The latest incarnation of the Vantage family has been designed to provide a unique character, appealing to different driver tastes and complementing the other models in the Aston Martin line-up.

The original V12 Vantage concept was unveiled to guests at the opening of the Aston Martin Design Studio in December 2007. Continuing the marque's impressive record of bringing concepts to market in their original form, Aston Martin engineers have brought the V12 Vantage to market in an incredible 12 months.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez said: "This is the ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range, combining our most agile model with our most powerful engine. It represents the definitive driving package; providing spectacular performance to ensure a dynamically thrilling and everyday useable driving experience.

"The V12 Vantage has a unique character, unlike our other cars. This will appeal to different people with different tastes, allowing more people to enjoy the Aston Martin experience.

"This also illustrates one of Aston Martin's key strengths – the ability to act quickly and turn concepts and ideas into reality."

Designed for the focused driver, every component of the V12 Vantage has been honed with pure driving enjoyment in mind. Benefitting from race-developed materials and components, and featuring lightweight carbon fibre; performance and agility have been tuned to perfection.

Visually enticing, the V12 Vantage expresses its performance potential through its purposeful stance created by enhanced aerodynamic and cooling aids optically widening the car. Equally inviting, the cosseting interior permits the driver to extract maximum performance ability from the car while also enjoying customary levels of Aston Martin comfort on longer journeys. High levels of power and torque are available at all engine speeds making the V12 Vantage responsive and tractable in any driving situation.

The V12 Vantage will be built at Aston Martin's global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire joining the DBS, DB9 and V8 Vantage model lines which are built in the state-of-the-art production facility combining hi-tech manufacturing processes with traditional hand-craftsmanship. Production will be limited to between just 300-500 examples per year, making the V12 Vantage a truly exclusive driver's car.

And the point of the DB9 is now...not having as many vents in the hood?

Ask anyone who has driven both - the V8V and DB9 were entirely separate cars with entirely different likenesses. The DBS has already done any damage to the 9 anyways.

I'm so in love. These things are some of the most beautiful cars on the road. I'm fortunate to see one every day or two when the weathers not freezing, and it's a treat every time. The sound must be amazing now... Can't wait.

The DB9 is a Grand Tourer, made for covering big distances fast and comfortably. The V8 Vantage is the Sport Tourer and this is the Sports uncomfortable-tourer. At the very least that's how my opinion sits on the matter.

before playing, make sure your speakers are not on top volume...

You're not wrong, it's very loud! I suppose it just goes to show how loud the actual car is I guess! Beautiful sound from a beautiful car. I'll have 2.

I think that was a poor choice of words. Is it me or is he promoting one car whilst degrading the others?

the hood is.. awkward. I expected more elegant creation than that, otherwise I want this car.

Personally, I like my Astons unadorned... their shapes look so much better without sill extensions and splitters. IMO, the splitter and 'hood' ruin the delicacy of the nose.

DB9 > DBS
V8 Vantage > V12 Vantage

And those rear lights look like something a chav would buy from Halfords to stick on his Corsa... zero taste.

It's like having Marilyn Monroe (alive, obviously, I'm not a necrophiliac) and cutting her up. It just doesn't work.

Ditto. Give me all of the mechanical bits of this car, but stick it in the regular car. That would be absolutely perfect.

I can't help but thinking how distasteful Aston are becoming, The DBS worked as a one off, the 'bling' look AS are going for isn't something I want to see across the range.

I'd take the V8 personally.

Its not that its terrible looking, its just trying too hard to be fashionable when AM look better when they don't try to be in your face and manage to be fashionable anyway. Regardless I am sure it will sell, particularly to footballers so I don't Blame Am for cashing in on it. I'm just not going to get too excited about it personally.

Meh, all the Aston Martins are looking the same. The DB9 was an incredibly sexy looking car, and the DBS was not much worse, but everything after the DB9 looks just the same, bleh...

Yes, how terrible, we can keep them :D

Damn I bet that thing sounds awesome.👍

V8's now under 40k 2nd hand :)

It's not a new thing for Aston Martin to stick vents and intakes on certain top models, but when they did it to the V8 Vantage of the 90's and created the V600 Le Mans it was done to a car where thoes additions didn't look that out of place. There was always the fact that even though they had done it it was a rare thing for them to do to a car, these days every model has it's high caffine version. It just doesn't work with these models, they're too elegant in design imo.

To each their own. The car really does go like stink. I like it, but I always preferred the Vantage shape.

More sameiness is coming too. No differentiness for a couple of years. It's difficult to facelift these cars - they are gorgeous, they are just now 'familiar' too.

Can you go and beat your wheels department, and take their Halfords/Ripspeed and TSW catalogues off them, please?

That is one FUGLY Aston.
I'm also luck enough to see a V8V every few days and it looks fine the way it is. Whats with the AM designers recently, Its like they have a layer in photoshop of some vents and put it over every car they see.

When will they stop facelifting the Vanquish? These days it's easier to determine if you're dealing with a normal 997 or the facelifted version than it is to determine what AM model it is when you see one :odd:
I suppose each footballer wants his own version.. A DB9 (best looking of them all) with a V8 and one with a V12 will do imo.

I'm fortunate enough to live a house down from an owner, fantastic car. I can hear him come home if I get in from work first . Beautiful car, I can't say I think this is horrible, but I certainly think it's overdone and that the regular V8 Vantage looks much nicer. I think the same about the DB9 and the DBS, the DB9 is much nicer looking though the DBS isn't awful the cars shape doesn't suit overly agressive details imo.
