Then you also have the lotus espirt gt3 and the Bentley gt3r.

Porsche do have previous with the 901 though.

Don't forget the Merc's upcoming AMG GT "GT3" road car. Does that mean that Stuttgart is going to go after them now too? Porsche's starting to become as bad as Ferrari when it comes to their brand image.

Alpina got away with it :)

Perhaps Porsche are just feeling insecure about something with Aston?

Call it the GT998. Make it sound like a Porsche and since Porsche hasn't used "998" yet (even though they should have) there won't be anything they can do about it.

There ya go, dig deep and figure out something you know Porsche might use in the future, then use it and trademark it for life.

Here's a pic from Goodwood. From the Supercar paddock. With the top up...

A convertible track car is like taking a professional pair of running shoes and turning them into sandals.

For the record, all running shoes look like convertibles. An Ariel Atom... Now, THAT looks like a sandal.

I think it's about structural rigidity, or rather the lack thereof.

I'm sure they took steps in that regard in the same way a convertible Z06 does it and various other roadster track cars, it surely isn't the first of its kind.

They did a good with the last Vantage convertibles. Aston learned their lesson from the first version. (which was essentially like jelly apparently )

Why is Aston turning into Porsche with all the specials? Remember the good old days when their were 3 cars in a supercar range and that was basically it.
