Just a reminder that the season begins this weekend chaps.

Autopolis is absent, and there are only 8 Championship rounds as opposed to 9, but there is a special non-Championship round of short sprint races held in conjunction with Formula Nippon. Also, the Honda HSV-010 makes it's much anticipated debut.

Speedhunters Season Preview

After seeing the amazing pace of the Thunder Asia Mosler at Sepang, I wonder how it will do with a old Judd LMP2 engine and some other mods. It should do very good, Right?

I'll definitely keep tabs on the Mosler, I saw the one in British GT at Oulton Park last year pretty much pasting the field. Though British GT isn't really comparable, it was still impressive to see such amazing pace. I was definitely made a fan on that day!

Looks like it will be a great season. It's a shame there's no broadcast of it :ouch:.

As always, many of us will be scrambling to find an online feed from justin.tv or the like. I'm sure when one is found someone will post it up, so just keep an eye on the thread.

Edit: There are a whole bunch of new pictures of the teams arriving and setting up here. We get a good look at the liveries not yet seen (Team Kunimitsu etc)

Thanks for the link. The cars look awesome this season (as always). 👍

What happened to the Mosler? Its been removed from the entry list too now?

They were on a tight deadline, and I guess they weren't ready in time. Can't find any clarification on that though, the official team site is no longer hosted and Melvin Choo's website isn't up-to-date.

Was there any footage of the His Advan GTR Crash as it happened during Quali? I saw the end of it on Youtube, and I would like to know how he went off. The GTR took a lot of rear damage from what i saw. Only 3 hours and 30 Minutes to the Race!

edit: the video doesn't show why it went off, so it's probably the same video as you saw. Still good to watch to get amped up for the race though.

That was the video I saw with the aftermath of the off. I would think they would get it fixed. It would be a major blow to the team early on in the championship to already be behind the 8 ball.

The Mosler isnt here for the race. No news why.....

race has started, but I have found no feed yet... what about anyone else?

Excellent, thanks!

edit: wow, only 12 laps in and already what a race! 3-wide HSV > crash was insane!

Ouch. There goes Honda.

Unlucky No. 1 Unlucky. Makes a bid for the lead and ends up 5th!

I don't want to be in that meeting on Monday. I would be calling in that day if I worked for either team. --- Randy

A good race and three different makes on the podium as well. I just wish it had been a 500KM race rather than a 300KM race.

After watching some of the race footage, I'm really surprised at the high attrition rate early on, it really shook up the race in GT500. Still, great to see the HIS GTR come back from the crash they had in qualifing to win the race. 👍 The overtake from the RX-7 on a JLOC Lambo on the outside was good stuff.

Ouch :scared: Accident from the first round of 2010 @ Suzuka

I try to follow this series, but can't do it. I never get to watch any of the races, either live or recorded. Attempts last season to view online races went bust after the first race.

I love the cars, but I am distinctly unimpressed by the track line-up. Suzuka twice and Fuji 3 times in a 9 rounds? So there are effectively 6 circuits in total? Or am I missing a trick here.

They stole my move from GT5P! Seems like it was a good race from what I've seen though, I don't really track the series I always enjoy watching most racing when it's close with plenty of overtaking.

This is the Okayama race weekend- the qualifying sessions are done and PM910 is quick enough to post the 3 Knockdown Sessions on Youtube. Again the Weider's HSV-010 is the quickest among the GT500 cars.

Thanks for posting the vids, was so busy I'd forgotten the race starts in less than 2 hours now.

Anyone see a link , yet?

Makes me wish SuperGT had a Video feed on their website.
