Yes I am going to try and drive it over the weekend. It is black and I personally do not like the way they look in black. I also still wish they would get rid of the horizontal 67 Camaro line that cuts the car in two but oh well. Maybe the next Camaro will delete that and lean toward a full 69 design. I was also surprised to see that it had 19" wheels. It also sits way too high.
I will try to get a pic of my Camaro next to it just for fun. I figure if I drive in with a 69 Camaro I will hopefully have a pretty good chance to test drive it. Personally I still like the new Challenger better. Just too bad the new Challenger is soo heavy.

Nice! We just had our big 2010 Camaro blowout at Berger Chevrolet last night. Although I wasn't there for most of the festivities, they had four or five cars in the show room that they unveiled simultaneously, as well (I believe) a ceremony for the first fourteen buyers who received their cars last night. Apparently there will be six cars left unspoken for on the lot for now, with more coming in the next week or so. I met a real nice salesman yesterday who said he'd hook me up with a drive in a V6 RS if I want, well, assuming they get one soon (I didn't see one yesterday).

You live near Berger? That's awesome! 👍

I can't wait till they get some new ones over here. I'm not gunna try to drive any cuz i doubt they'd let a 19 year drive one.

I was sitting at my desk at work and everyone started pointing outside and said there was a new silver Camaro in the parking lot. So we found out that one of the sales reps actually got it as a rental. So with that said quite a few of the employees took turns beating the heck out of it including myself. :sly:
It was only the 6 cylinder so nothing too crazy. The black one that was down from my house is gone and now there is a yellow SS model which looks awesome. Yellow is easily the best looking color for this new Camaro.

Saw a fifth gen at our annual BBQ on Saturday. I was less than impressed. The novelty has worn off. Which is a sad thing.

A family friend of mine ordered a new one a couple weeks ago. Its going to be orange with black stripes. It will have the V8 of course too. It probly wont come till sometime in August. He said he will race me at the drag strip with it, and will even let me drive it. I cant wait till he gets it!

Your GTP will probably win. :D With the fact that this thing weighs a billion pounds it doesn't stand a chance against a modified anything. Here's an idea, someone buy an SS model and strip everything out of it then get some numbers on it so we can compare.

Actually the Camaro is the lightest of the Challenger, Camaro, and the Mustang. The V6 is not that impressive but I bet that V8 would be a pretty fun ride.
I did not like the way they had the paddle shifter set up. Its not even actually real paddle shifters. The paddles you see in the pictures are not what you shift with. Those are just plastic or metal images. The buttons are below those. So you have to have your hands in the 3-9 position and the buttons are even lower than that. Very akward setup.

I want to get into the SS model with the V8 and 6 manual speed transmission. That should be a fun ride.

Ahh I was getting the numbers mixed up with the V6. Heard several weight numbers being thrown around and that V8 model is heavier than I thought.

The V6 is the way to go in the Camaro. Grab the RS package and stuff some forced induction on that V6 and watch as you blow by the SS. :D
