Quote of the race:
Chandhok also revealed that he dragged Barrichello's errant steering wheel all the way down to the tunnel section of the track.

"It got lodged underneath the car, so I could feel it scraping all the way through Mirabeau. Then the noise stopped and one of the marshals reported back that it fell out of my car in the tunnel. But then Bruno ran over it – so that steering wheel has been well and truly Hispania'd!"

👍 :lol:

Yesterday was a first for me- it was the first time I've ever seen a live Formula One race aired at 7:00 AM CDT Sunday morning. I had never seen an F1 race at that time until yesterday. Saw it from start to finish. What can I say? Mark Webber was awesome.

It was a good race, Mark was excellent throughtout the weekend. Kubica and Alonso done very well. I'm a bit suprised by the harshness of the Schumacher penalty.

The race was awesome, and I’m very happy for Marks well deserved victory. His win has inspired me to take this Friday off work to go down to the Kart track for a day’s practice. :D

I wanted to post a few of these epic pictures on espnf1.com;

Nice :D Chandhok has got to be one of the better personalities in F1 at the moment, he's got a good sense of humour.

Also wondering what happened to Kobayashi. The BBC commentators kept mentioning him saying "He must've made a mistake" or "Theres a yellow flag in sector 4, I wonder if it's Kobayashi...". But nothing was said about how the big train of cars (Hamilton, Alonso, Schumacher etc.) got past him, and nothing was said about what caused him to retire. What happened?

Gearbox failure

Kamui Kobayashi (DNF)
"It is a shame because our race pace was a lot better than our performance in qualifying. I think we again missed a chance to score points. My start was good. The first corner is never easy in Monaco, but it went alright. But then I wasn't able to shift up anymore. I just looked for a safe place to park the car and that was it."

James Key, BMW Sauber team principal
"Just a few laps later there was a gearbox issue on Kamui's car. He lost a gear and then couldn't select the next one, which caused him to stop on the track. That problem is currently under investigation. We shall learn what we can from this weekend, but look forward to tracks where we think the car will work better and hope for a much more promising showing in Istanbul."

I somehow thought about when Travis Pastrana at New Year No Limits in Long Beach on New Year's Eve when the Red Bull team took that dip into the harbor and in a pool. I was impressed with Fernando Alonso climbing through the pack like he did. Especially on a stop-and-go street course like Monte Carlo, it was pretty doggone impressive seeing him make a few bold overtakes. Then again, he is a former World Champion, you know.

Monaco was a good race. Bring on Turkey in two weeks!

These are sweet. :D Thanks for sharing. 👍

In other news... Mercedes GP has withdrawn its appeal, but the FIA has admitted that the rulings could be clearer.

How very diplomatic of both sides. Let's hope this good vibe between the stewards and teams stays this way all season.
