shem, you sure that isn't a snapshot from after lap 28?
 
That was from about half hour after the race started because I went out for some snacks after starting that one. I'm having internet connection issues somewhere down the line although normal web is working fine.

I've been getting this

So I do apologise immensely that the races will have to continue tomorrow using my office PC as the line here at my house is causing problems.

If it turns out that that last race was faulty due to the connection I'll happily re-run it so that nobody feel cheated.

The race itself wasn't faulty and it actually did finish. I can see the final results from my end. It's just that what you've posted here seem to be the race standings after lap 28.

Ok, it seems like something funny is going on with your account. I can still see all my other friends on gran-turismo.com, but I've just before refreshed your page, and now I'm getting this:

"You cannot view the My Home pages of players who are not your friends."

I hope that doesn't mean that you'd get the same, and you won't be able to race my driver in the next race. :nervous:

Its normal for accounts that disconnect due to internet problems from servers to be blocked on the website untill the user Re ups the data from loading GT5. which has now happened..

Had you done the firmware update 3.72 before that GT5 race.

The race did complete and I dont think Doctorrg 👍 will want a rerun. :sly:

I did do the system update before hand yes. I've managed to get my widget running RR but they won't be championship races for obvious reasons. I'm still having trouble getting a connection from GranTurismo.com so I will give it another try from work tomorrow. :(
 
Well again, I am sorry that the races are coming in trickles and not being done faster. I have a load of work on these days transitioning from full time work to semi-retirement working from home.

I'm guessing I might advertise for a candidate to host the 2011 Amateur Championship for the level 0 Bobs as I know if I'm doing it it'll run rather slowly. The only way I can think of doing it with ease is for everyone to have a specific, new PSN account and let 16 drivers in to run on a widget. I don't know if I can commit more than a few hours a week to it with all I have going on outside of the forums.

It's a little while before that bridge is crossed yet so lots of time to sort out planning.

I wonder how difficult it would be to let the widget run the championships. If I get around to it, I might have another look at the code again, and see how tricky it would be. Picking the right drivers isn't an issue, getting them all might indeed be.
 
That's true. I know that the widget can select only certain contacts on one's list but then that person would need to just have one driver online for the whole championship. I think that would cause problems but it would mean that championships could last a day rather than a few weeks.

Thoughts?

Well, the widget can be... umm... slightly modified to only run particular drivers, and ignore others. Been doing it for ages. :guilty:

Always use these drivers ....and a....
Never use these drivers ....

So the race that was thrown out, that was the first race C. Wong won right? He is such a cheater, he would try to pull that off. Oh, well.

Close points race though, 3 tied at 54 and 1 at 53.👍

Dont worry when the points are corrected and the points added up youll still be in the lead by 2 :sly: if race 11 stands that is.

Remember If its a tie most wins decides the places in Nascar, if number of wins is tied then number of second places decides winner.. then third and so on....:sly:

I don't understand. This last race went fine and now all of a sudden the connection drops off? What the fishsticks?

Shem, psn asia was under going maintenance just now. I was booted during rr, then received an email about maintenance on my main psn acc. Time given was 9am to 12noon gmt+8.
 
I've just tried from the US and UK and neither will connect with the server. If worst comes to worst I'll just have to run them from home using the PS3 and record the data another way. :(

I did notice that there is a problem with the Asian server so whether that is the cause or not I don't know but it shouldn't cause problems if I'm running it from a UK or US site should it?

I'll try again in an hour, after lunch.
 
If your running the Asia version of the game then yes. The site will try to send you data via Asia servers.
If you run a EU import version. No it will go to the EU servers. Then you.

Well, granturismo.com and psn login are different and the maintenance was for psn so probably the ps3 end would be affected.

It's odd thought that the widget, thanks Graphite 👍, is working OK and that's linked to the same PSN account and the same Asian version.

Scratch that. Every time the widget starts race it refreshes back to reserving drivers mode. :grumpy:

I'll give it a few hours and see if the maintenance is finished by that time.

Widget here just started the 4th race since getting booted out of psn earlier. Using taiwan server, everything seems normal with full grids.

Are you away from the ps3? Because usually for me when that happens its because the ps3 got signed out.
 
I'm at work, yeah, away from the PS3. If it's been signed out by ISP errors then there isn't much I can do right now. I'll have to wait and see what happens although if it's signed out wouldn't the auto-sign in feature bring it back on-line one the error was rectified?
