Also in the "overdone" camp. It seems that designers in charge of Jaguars, Astons, and Land/Range Rovers have a habit of starting with a sexy, elegant design and then proceeding to ruin them with scoops, vents, slashes, and other poorly placed styling elements.

That's the solution when you run out of ideas or creativity...

But in all honesty though, it does look cool when you lay down vents and doo-hickeys on paper, not saying that that's necessarily a good thing.

Convertible looks nice but I agree that the vents and scoops don't mesh with the original, more beautiful and pure shape.

Still much better-looking than 98% of the cars out there though!

Really? I like the coupe more. Convertibles with spoilers look silly.

Catastrophically ugly. They get worse with every iteration.

I miss when it was elegant and pretty, but could still pull your face off.

In other Jaguar news I can tell you today that they are developing an XF wagon. I overtook the test mule on the M40 earlier, only the rear was camo'd, the rest of the car was 2011 XF.

Didn't the 2011 GT-Rwipe the floor with this car on top gear? Granted it was very wet, but the jag looked like a golf cart.

It was only coasting at 60 behind a truck.

It was more of a comment on what I assume your driving to be like.

I don't know why but I imagine you drive like my nan does.

It's just as well that outright performance isn't everything then, isn't it...

You'd be wrong. :sly:

Well yeah performance ain't everything, but that big price tag difference makes the Jag seem underwhelming for the price point.

Not really. If performance is your only measuring stick then the GTR makes most things look silly for the price, but there's much, much more to buying a car than performance. I expect the Jag is plenty fast enough for most, and it's also a Jaguar, and not a Nissan...

Automobile Magazine tested this and the Granturismo MC in the NY Catskills. Wish I was there to hear that!

I agree with Danoff but at start up in the garage it souned great. Out on the track it sounded like a rock crusher.

That's true the GT-R is a freak of a performance car. Still, even though it was top gear, you certainly seem to get more all around better car than the jag.

Oh my, I'm sorry I ever entered this thread.

*shutter*

But Keef, you were right about it over a year ago.

It looks more like a Mondeo on botched steroids every generation. And Jaguar aren't even owned by Ford anymore!
