That instrument cluster is insane. There is no way I'd ever be able to figure out what's going on while driving. There are just way too many gauges and lights clumped too close together. And that concentric speedo/tach thing would be impossible to read while trying to drive. It's all just not clear enough.

Take away the warning lights and it's fairly straightforward. Everything has it's own gauge, but they are clearly labelled and clustered into groups.

Here's a better example. Keep the same look, but update it completely. Not just a face lift.

Lexus IS230's?

Seeing as Koenigsegg is an Aktiebolag (The Swedish equivalent of a share company) they don't really have a lot of money to just throw onto an entirely remodeled vehicle, after only what - 16 years? Had the Saab deal not gone awry, then, perhaps. Look how long it's taken Pagani to replace the Zonda.

Case in point - they'll do what they need to in order to keep the models fresh and new in their own right.

To much power, to light "sigh" those guys never learn do they?
I'm sure it kicks ass, but having to feather the throttle around any turn at any speed gets super annoying super fast. Let alone not being able to stomp it in 2nd, 3rd, and maybe even 4th gear in a straight line without lighting all the tread on $4-500 tires up in smoke. Granted, the price of the tires doesn't bother owners, but I'll bet constantly changing them does/would.
I'm pretty sure the Koenigsegg drives like most supercars in that the pedal can be pressed to a certain degree before it throws all its power at you.

I'm also sure after a while, their owners know that point & how much throttle the car needs to get around a turn without the rear kicking out.

Well, they do have traction control for people with right foot-parkinsons :sly:

I just love the fact it has a speedo which stops at 420 KPH... that gives you some nice bragging rights in the pub...

Do you know this for a fact?

Best case scenario is it understeers; you floor it and plow right into a wall.

Oh, wait, that's a worse case scenario. Yeah. I'll take my chances being scared for my life...it just works that way.
You are aware the Stig wiped out a CCX, right? They had to be told to put a wing on it.

You have a lot of faith in rich men, don't you?

Well, between you guys, maybe, since most likely none of us will have a car with such traction issues, you drive in snow and realize it's probably similar to trying to get traction in snow, in a regular RWD car. (and not one with studded snow tires.)

TrievelA7X: You basically want a "supercar" that doesn't have enough horsepower to cause the rear end to break free when you slam the throttle while going through a corner? Most 250+BHP RWD cars will lose traction if you step down too hard while still having sideways momentum you know.

Driving fast has always been about managing throttle control in relation to the forces acting on the vehicle. Nothing different about this car.

This thread missed this view:
* Nose misses a bit of personality for me, but still like it
* the back is so straight and cold, made in Scandinavia right!

They were already working on that before that "incident" took place. Nothing but a coincidence. :p

I dunno. I love chronographs. :3

I do too, but with a dashboard you have much more space to work with so it shouldn't be too cluttered in one spot. A good old fashion dash would have a separate dial for each gauge. I think the same should apply to digital keep it simple. Plus did you ever try reading your chrono watch while driving at high speed? Very distracting. :scared:

I only like the dash for the speedo in Tach thing...thats too awsome for words....it kind of reminds me of this:

Equally awesome.....:dopey:

The dash on this car only looks cluttered here because all the warning lights are on... just imagine the dash without all those warning lights on and its more than readable... Dont see it as cluttered at all...

Also, the whole thing is an LCD screen, just like your computer. At Koenigsegg's price point, you can easily have them reprogram the thing to suit your own personal taste.

-> I like the Agera, its so pleasing to look at compared to the CC-series. The Agera has that more mature and at the same time softer tone. :)

-> Very nice job Koeniggsegg! 👍

The cornering G's are epic if they prove to be true (manufacturer claim presently). I also think that grouping the speedo and tacho in one guage is very smart, I believe GM were showing some conceptual instrument clusters with the same idea quite a while back. At least now when you check the revs you have half a chance to see what speed you're doing, because with that much power you sure as hell won't have the chance to check 2 different guages at full bore.:dopey: More to the point though, it's easier to keep both guages in plain eyesight.

I like it, it's less awkward looking than the CC, but sadly that makes it seem less Swedish.

Also, when are carmakers going to realize how ghastly the whole "row of LEDs in the headlights" thing is? It's an even more vulgar and tacky solution to DRLs than BMW's whole "angel eyes" thing. At least they run along the top of the light, so it doesn't look like it's fighting a wicked hangover like the new Audis.
