Does anyone have a good setup for Indy yet? I'v never been able to get my cars to be fast on this track and i'm in need of help.

Thanks.

Nothing comes up in search for "2011" setups, lots of "2010". they have more hp so guessing different setups would be in the order.

If you are finding many, what are you putting in the search field?

I used 2011 nascar, nascar, 2011, and nothing comes up on either of the 3 ways.

Same problem I was having. Nothing for 2011 yet but I guess a 2010 setup will do for now.:ouch:

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about as far as the hp, but it is the same, 892, on the new as on the old NASCAR cars. And it looks like killer has you guys covered with the setup so everything is good here. Killer, nice to see you again, hope all is well with ya bro. Peace.

Everything is cool bro.Just doing some testing of the new Nascars.Could swear they have different body styles, short track and super speedway front ends.

Not sure I share the same thoughts on that. To me, all the new NASCAR cars (2011's) are all the same. They just updated the nose and paint schemes. I did find out something pretty interesting regarding that new tire load indicator and using it to tune NASCAR cars. I shaved a half second off my solo online lap time at Daytona. Don't ask, you already know how I am, lol. I don't share information about my NASCAR findings. Go ahead and say it, I'm a .......

I'm the same I will give you a base tune that is fast and stable. Then figure the rest out for yourself.I don't give out my exact tunes.

Thats how I do it too. Just yesturday I had a kid come on here and make a thread about me just because I wouldn't give him my whole tune. Then he makes another thread saying good-bye to this forum because nobody would give him their NASCAR tune. Just wow, lol.

I drive different than you and everyone else.My set-up is at the seat of your pants and sometimes people can't drive it.Other things come into factor such as wheels etc, etc.I figured it out and gave them a good base now make it better.

try this...it used to be good 4 at least 21 laps but since the update 10-11 laps is about it, as far as being able to go wide open & wherever u want....ride height 10/0.....spring rate 19/19... extensions 9/9 compression 8/8 antiRolls 7/7.....camber 1.1/1.3 ....toe 0.30/0.25(BOTH NEGATIVE) LSD 52/55/7....aero is all the way up i believe that is 50/70....as far as the tranny goes i wont give u mine but ur top speed in the upper right corner should be anywhere between 236-240..just a matter of preference- if u are using a controller try ur sensitivity at negative 2

and by the way the tune i just gave u is something that will allow u to b competitive and even win...but it is just kind of a starter kit...it will let u see how a good car will handle and after a few races u will be able to make ur own tweaks here and there to get it exactly where u want it

The key to tuning for Indy I've found is +10 on the front ride height. The reverse ride height bug is the only thing I could find that would allow the car to turn well in the corners and gain enough front grip to make the tires last more than a few laps. The rest of the set up you can tweak to suit your needs but a variety of settings will work so long as the front is around 10 higher than the back.

How about you stop double posting and just edit your original post. There hows that for some constructive advice.

Not Bad, only about 15 strong laps with a Ds3 since 2.0...I have been working on a new distance set and have come up with a solid 27 lapper for Ds3..Running hard up front..Still a few more tweeks and I'll post it up, I'm loving it so far, Winning real easy doing 50 lappers so far as guys are still having trouble on Indy since 2.0...The "Old" set ups just dont go the distance now...More to come.

Well mess around with it a bit. With some minor tweaks to that tune you can get 25 laps no problem.:sly:

Ok so I spend endless hours figuring it out and I just give it away.Show me one of your tunes.Lots of people race Nascar. You want a tune for a beetle.People race them all the time at Indy.

Heres a tune a got off one of my nascar buddies ;)

DF - 42, 45
Trans - 1st-2.042,1.305,0.964,0.872, Final-3.500, Max-261mph
LSD 5,60,5
SUSP- 13,-2
20.0,20.0
2,2
3,3
4,4
0.8,0.4
-0.47, -0.77
Brakes- 0,0

On soft tires think you can do about 23laps with a wheel, the trans may need changed as I was messing about with it but the idea is to be using 3rd gear when not drafting someone and 4th when you are. This does awsome laps times ;)

Actually I finally found it, it's not marks as 2011, but the hp is correct. Look up oval tunery.

Exactly 👍

I tweaked the setup for Spec2.0

Spec 2.0 added more realistic physics to Indy. But the 2011 cars handle exactly the same from my perspective.

Also I have better tunes than I put out to share but I like to keep those secretive. All I can say is start with what I have (only good for 15 hard-pushing laps), turn the aero down to 50/55 and tune the suspension & wheel alignment looser and then add the back the full aero and you will have a bad a$$ fast, inside line pusher (bump-drafting) car that gives you 30 laps at Indy. If you want more stiffer car thats still fast continue with taking away toe and camber angles and lowering lsd. This will also make the car more stable in the later laps and possibly give you a pit stop past 30 laps depending on your driving style and tempo of the race. I will not divoulge into anymore fine tuning of my post here:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5651814#post5651814

Also with using the tire load indicator I discovered that with a stiff spring setup lowest ride height should only be at -2 in the front. Idk if anyone else has seen that but thats also depending on how loose/soft or stiff your suspension is. Oh and raising the ride height in the front definitly helps with tire longevity, all depending on race length and tempo (conserving vs pushing ~ endurance vs sprint). Also I seen some suggestions for Anti-Roll Bars at 7. Now this would help too but your tires will wear too fast. I feel this setting is like an aid. I tend to tune that as a last resort. You will get more longevity if you tune without aero and low anti roll bars. This will really help you see what your car is doing before you apply the aids(aero & higher anti-roll bar settings)

I'm capable of pulling 30 hard laps at Indy while pushing the inside line at 2 seconds faster for 15 laps. But I am currently tuning for a stiffer front suspension to give me 40laps.

Indy is a monster and you have to balance speed in corners, loose handling to push it and a stiff but compromisable suspension to maintain tire wear. I'm almost there. If you want to see what I am working with PM me and we will discuss.

I am happy to see that someone finally helped out the OP. I can't believe that all of you tuners are so protective of your NASCAR tunes. Shame on all of you for not sharing something sooner.

I see that the OP hasn't logged into GT Planet since January of this year. Someone may want to PM him and let him know that his NASCAR tune is ready.

:)
