Well, you can hate the styling as much you want, but there is no denying of the wonderful orchestra that lies under the bonnet.

That sounds more like the 599 GTO...i think this sound is fake...

spy.

It does sound similar to the GTO, but then they'd have to do an unreasonable amount of work to get it in sync with the video of the FF. I'd say it's not fake.

See? Rally driver can make even overweight, AWD Ferrari wagon interesting.

I think that that F12 Berlinetta vid is in the wrong thread.

This is the thread for the fugly FF.

Patent drawing of a FF coupe- Jalopnik

Maybe its just me, but isn't the F12 Berletta already essentially a FF coupe? This patent drawing already bares a unmistakable resemblance to the F12.

I'm really hoping that it will be made for real. It's gonna look similar to the F12berlinetta, but with more coherent lines and less of a "rapeface" grin on the front. I'm not really a huge fan of the super svelte, willowy lines on the F12's flanks despite their aerodynamic purposes. And I certainly wasn't feeling full of approval when I saw the very sharp curvatures on its butt.

This one's gonna look ferocious and evocative at the same time without provoking sense of disapproval. And also it's not a shooting-brake like the original FF. If that's gonna be made with the looks presented on those drawings, it'll be my second favorite Ferrari in its current lineup (after the 458 Italia), in terms of looks.

But something tells me that this is just gonna be a one-off...

No one said it was. They're being sarcastic & I agree.
The FF & F12 are already separated by a $30,000 difference in price & the FF works because it's AWD & seats 4 comfortably. The performance figures between the 2 aren't exactly on opposite ends despite an 80hp difference either.

So, there's absolutely no room for such a car in Ferrari's lineup.

Seems Ferrari is going to start building super niche cars now. I know these aren't SUVs, but not dis-similar conceptually to the differences between a BMW X5 and X6.

Those patents might not be an FF coupe but could be for the next gen California.

Autocar
A series of design patent images have revealed that Ferrari is developing a new model, which may well be the next-generation Ferrari California.

Several official illustrations, which appeared online after being submitted for design registration, show the new Ferrari in detail.

It's evident that the car features many design cues found on current Ferraris, including the front and rear styling of the FF. The lights are the same as those seen on the current 458, F12 Berlinetta and FF, while the lower valance appears a hybrid of that found on the FF and F12.

Despite the illustration appearing to show a fixed-roof coupé, there are prominent cut lines in the roof that suggest that a production version would feature a folding metal hard top, like the California. The images may also not be representative of the final production version, accounting for the lack of an obvious receptacle for the folding roof.

The Ferrari California is currently the oldest model in the manufacturer's range, having being revealed in late 2008 and launched in early 2009, and features styling that's not in line with more recent models.

Previously the date for the replacement California had been the source of some debate, with Ferrari's mid-engined cars being on a five-year replacement cycle and its V12s on a seven-year cycle. Some had suggested a six-year cycle for the California convertible, however, pointing at a late 2014 reveal and early 2015 on-sale date.

A lightly disguised Ferrari California test mule was spotted earlier in the year, with obvious changes including a much higher bonnet line, a different front end and new lights. Sources suggested at the time that the car was testing a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8, which has recently made its way in to the Maserati Quattroporte.

Currently the rear-drive California is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 that produces 483bhp and 375lb ft. It's capable of 0-62mph in under 4.0sec and has a top speed of 194mph. The new twin-turbo Ferrari-designed and built 3.8-litre V8 puts out 523bhp and 523lb ft.

The presence of notable bonnet louvres in the sketches of the new model potentially indicate that it too could receive a turbocharged powerplant; they would serve to reduce the high underbonnet temperatures that are typically associated with high-performance forced-induction engines.

Fitting a turbocharged engine would also help Ferrari meet increasingly demanding emissions and economy targets. An illustration of the chassis also suggests a flat undertray will be fitted, in order to reduce drag - which will again help improve performance and efficiency.

Recent patents for myriad hybrid technologies, including a rear-mounted hybrid system for a front-engined, rear-drive coupé, may indicate that the new California could also receive a hybrid powertrain. The California was notable for featuring many economy-related technologies when launched, and it was also the first production Ferrari with a stop/start system.

There has been some speculation that the images may be of a Ferrari FF coupé, or special one-off variant, but Ferrari already offer a high-performance front-engined coupé in the form of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. The new car also appears to feature the same central section as the California, but with a longer nose and different tail.

Ferrari declined to comment regarding the new design registrations.

I really hope that's NOT the new California... I'd hate to see the only good looking Ferrari getting the "fish look" treatment of current Ferrari's like the Italia, FF, F12 and so on...

:yuck:

That side profile definitely had a lot of the California in it. However, I'm not sure if I'd like to see it take that many design cues from the FF.

Weird, I remember a lot of people hating the California

I'll put up with a smiley face if they cure the California's fat arse.

If it's a California then it can't be a convertible cause shape of the roof and it wiil be a targa top.

Here a photoshop from Jalopnik on how it would look...........

Looks a little weird.:yuck:

2 possibilities according to insiders.
Napolis
There is a "One Off" being built on an FF platform.
Or.

New Cali. Ties in with everything I have been told by someone who has seen the car. I do know there is also a one off F12 Spider being built and maybe all the differences with the louvres etc are so as to differentiate it from the production Spider?
Most likely option is pointing to this as the new California since it's Ferrari's #1 seller & is the next car set for a remodel.
