I love driving it stock. It's an amazing machine.

I did buy another and fully tune it, it's absolutely crazy. It's still a calm and under control car though even with all that power!

yes that's what a GTR is about, controlling power, not just having it.

I have a doubt. Which would be better either stock, mildly modified or fully tuned: The GTR Spec-V that was already in the game, or this new GTR?

Probs the new one, as it's just an improvement over the standard Spec V.

EDIT: Nevermind. I thought it was a 2012 Spec V Black Edition. In that case how do these two cars size up? Power figures? PP?

They have pretty much the same power, although wieght I would guess this new GTR having rear seats it's going to be havier.

I think we are back like the old times where all GTR's had pretty much the same specs, no matter thier badge like V-Spec, V-Spec II, M-Spec, Nur, V-Spec II Nur, M-spec Nur, and so on....

Is it my imagination or is the transmission not quite right on this new black edition?

The other GT-Rs have a true twin clutch modeled in the game with nearly instant gear changes and creep forward from a stop. The new GT-R from this DLC seems to behave like a traditional manual (I.e. no creep, slight pause between gears, kicks to neutral when stopped, etc...).

Wow PD screwed up modelling their closest car?

Or did they purposely screw it up it so that on paper it looks quicker with the higher HP and all but the Spec V still end up being quicker, as to not shame the Spec V?

Finally I'm going to get my 250mph+ GTR.. :trouble: The V-Spec could do 247mph max..

Nope, I've read somewhere that the GT-R got a new transmission in 2011 or something.

It's still the same GR6 Borg-Warner DCT.... The guts are the same, the software controlling it is completely different and now it's pretty hard to destroy the gears because launch control dumps the extra energy into giving the tires a bit of a burnout instead.

It should still be functionally instant and the acceleration plotted out as a velocity/time graph should be pretty much flat with no plateaus at gear shift. The USMY 2013 GT-R pumps out 545 bhp and gets to 60 in 2.72 seconds stock, and should be able to lap the Nur in less than 7:20 pushed hard enough.

I don't think the GT-R Spec V should be touching this car in any way when both are fully upgraded (in GT5) because the engine is going to get higher power/torque, weights should end up equivalent, there is less drag for better high speed acceleration, more downforce for better cornering all around, and for RHD models, a suspension that is uneven to compensate for the propshaft for the front wheels being on the right side.

Basically, if they made the 2012 GT-R slower than the SpecV, they dun' goofed on Gran Turismo's mascot car.

Regardless, it's still a dual clutch system.

What I'm saying is that this new GT-R Black seems to have been modeled in the game with a traditional manual instead of the dual clutch like the other GT-R's have in the game. There's a very noticeable lag in between gears (especially between 1 and 2) in the Black edition, whereas all the other GT-R's have essentially instant gear changes. Not to mention the DLC car's lack of transmission "creep" from a standstill.

Get in the new Black edition and do an acceleration from 0 to 60. The switch between 1 and 2 kills the acceleration time. Do the same in any other GT-R that's been in the game since day 1 and you'll see a much much faster result.

This is going to cause problems at Indy drags for sure.

Unfortunatly if this 1st to 2nd gear continues then the new one will be scrapped at indy. I have made a tune however, that is very fast after the first and second, allowing it to still fight v specs, but i have barly tested it, and need more time

there is another models for the gtr , i dont think for this model 2012 its for 2013 maybe we will see it later with 545 hp , there is a special version like spec v it called club edition rumors say it will have 560 hp with some mods like wing and slick tires .
but for now lets that godzilla what it can do .

I did a top speed test on mine, fully modded, with 939 HP, and the top speed I got was 245

actually the stock horse power rating after an oil change was 552 horse power. The SpecV isn't that high stock

I did the same

As the car was released and I first saw it in GT5P, I loved that car... After PD raped this car to hell I hate it... cant see it anymore...

Nevermind, a bit OT.

Thank goodness I wasnt the only one that noticed the horrid gear changes!! Way too much power interruption. Feels more like a single clutch and the car doesnt creep anymore.
