I am pretty much fed up with any and all American SUVs these days. Well, mostly their drivers I guess.

This is America:

Bulky Sedans
Smaller cars
Trucks
Crossover/SUV
occasional sport/muscle car.

No compact etc. At least around here.

Yeah, isn't that why road fatality rates in the US have declined much slower than countries where suvs/trucks aren't as common?

I'd say this is more of a car than an SUV, particularly when compared to it's predecessor, but that's being picky.

Every time I see one on the street, I'm surprised by how big it looks in pictures and how small it is in person.

Like it or not, this thing will probably sell extremely well. Lots of people buy X6 M's and AMG GL's. I'm sure those with lesser wallets will want in on the action as well.

I think you mean $5?
$5 is still not enough to drive truck and suv sales low enough. Once prices reach $8 and stay there, then we might see permanent change. Otherwise, it'll be same as it was a few years ago.

I'm not referring to sales of SUVs in general though, I'm referring to how paying extra at the pump seems to drive a lot of our fellow 'Mericans into this media fed frenzy on how driving is going to become economically destructive to their livelihoods.

As for sales of SUVs, it's actually declining, but it's mostly due to the crossover segment that's all the rage after hybrids.

Gas is $3.89 for regular here...

$3.93 right by the Uni.

It doesn't help that my parents, whom live in Saudi Arabia by the way, like to keep mentioning that gas is roughly 23 cents a liter, or about a buck a gallon.

When you go home for the summer, make sure you bring back a couple hundred gas cans.

You have no idea how many times I asked my parents to mail drums of them.:dopey:

But then I realized Homeland Security would probably suspect I was up to something.:indiff:
