2013 Lincoln MKZ is a stunner

I was looking at pics of it from NY auto show, and it would look good if they made a 2 door coupe out of it. Some thing that would compete with the CTS coupe but they would have to keep the same body lines it has unlike Cadillac did with the rear of the CTS coupe.

Wow, great looking car, obviously the front was influenced by the MKR concept. Definitely the best looking non concept Lincoln in a long time in my opinion and the back is by far the best bit.

Looks a LOT better with the two tone interior. Crystal Champagne is the best color, followed by Bordeaux Reserve.

It's not unattractive, but I just can't get over how thick it is. Both the front and the rear are so tall - I mean, it all works when taken as a whole, but still. I think the lights/grille ratio is a little off - the lights could be a bit bigger and the grille a bit smaller. It just looks very tall! Better than the outgoing models, but I find the general trend towards tallness in automotive design disappointing.

I like this car. Mainly its profile and rear lights. And the interior is beautiful. How much it costs? :D

It'll start in the mid/high $20K range with the EcoBoost engine, but most at the dealers will be in their $30s, especially when optioned up with the larger and more-powerful engines.

You sure? The current base price is $35K.

Ya that seems it would be Fusion/Taurus range at that price point.

With Mazerati / Alfa esque looks for a price like $20K I would personally fly over there and buy one but I suspect it will be much more than that.

I think YSSMAN has been smokin' that stuff.

No prices have been announced but I'm sure Lincoln hasn't become $10,000 more efficient over night. We can probably expect the car to be priced similarly to the current one, maybe slightly more.

They get the stickiest of the icky in Michigan.

Continental Kush will get to you.

Guess I way under-estimated the pricing. I must have been thinking of the Milan, not the MKZ. Totally unaware they started that high, especially for being dressed-up Fords. Whoops.

Standard V6, heated/cooled seats and all that jazz come at a price. However that also allows them to have the Hybrid option at no extra cost. Which I think is really cool.

Can't stand the front end, particularly the top grille attaching to the inside of the headlights. They look like as though a 6yr old with a nervous hand has tried to Super Size BMW's kidney grille. I think a lot of people are tricking themselves into liking it because if this model fails, then the future of Lincoln is undeniably bleak (more so than it already is). Then again, it has a distinctively American look about it that I don't think many foreigners 'get'. Oldsmobile had it, Pontiac still has it, Chrysler maintains it etc. I can't quite describe it.

Saw an MKZ on the highway in silver. It looked SO boring and awful on the road. It's like a wheeled techno-bean.

I've seen a few on the road and from what I've seen, this car has the most undersized taillights I've ever seen.

In the photo they look passable but in other colors, or just in person to begin with, they look awful.

Surely the entire strip is the taillight? Indicators on the small sections, perhaps reverse, but with the brake light all the way across. Seems fine to me from here.

Save judgment for when you see one on the road. It looks totally different from the pictures. The lightbar looks like they took some ropelights out of the local cinema.

I think the tail light is the whole strip and the brakes light up the ends. The cool thing about LED lights is they don't need to be a traditional size because they're bright as hell.

I saw one parked between a CTS and a G35 and I was like, holy cow, look at that space ship parked between those two other cars! The Lincoln was white, a most bland color, but the futuristic, slit-like headlights combined with the grille looked like a hawk in flight. A very different, more cohesive image than the other two cars, sleeker and more elegant. It's very unique. Because it was the first one I'd seen I drove into the lot to check out the rear ends. Again, very futuristic and atypical. It looked like a space ship compared to the Caddy and Infiniti and it was wonderfully refreshing. I wish the interior was as nice - it's smooth and clean, but I think a more layered, textured look is more appropriate on the inside. Like a house that looks super modern on the outside, but classically luxurious on the inside.

I actually prefer this to the Cadillac and Chrysler examples. Cadillac may be more appropriate given its status these days but I think Lincoln is more elegant, less ostentatious, and the brand could really use the recognition. Plus, that raised shoulder is fantastic. I wish this rendering looked more like the MKZ in the front and rear because if it did I'd be totally on board. With the raised shoulder, of course.

The MKZ is getting very unfavorable reviews. Price vs ride and materials used indicate a huge desparity to other products in the pricerange.

Edmunds and TTAC panned it. And rightfully so. This car is SO underwhelming in person.

As I said before, I was excited for it, but then I saw it at the car show in person and did a "Yeesh" face.

Edmunds seemed to crucify it even harder because of the 'optional' tire package which isn't actually available currently and with no forseeable date.

So, I wanted to show someone the review of this car from TTAC - they took it down. This is very unlike them, as they pride themselves in their willingness to tell The Truth.
