We've been threw alot of era's in Nascar...The Petty Era, The Yarborough Era, The Earnhardt Era and now the Johnson Era. The next era will be the Keselowski Era.

He can't shut up, and really too inconsistent. I'd be more open-minded about the newer guys like the Dillons, Kligerman, or Larson.

This, though I think due to the cream of the crop getting quite older I don't see how those guys will win in the current era, but since they are the next generation of drivers that's when they'll win when everyone else is gone. The way I see it is Dillion is barely beating Hornish Jr. who is a horrid cup car driver. Kyle Larson might be something and Kligerman also. Even with Daddy Warbuck's money Grand pap Richard's money they aren't organized enough over there to pull it off, they are so drenched in politics any third or fourth driver may wish to wreck the two grand children after a while (unless it's some old has been that is just happy to still have a upper level driver). I agree with this though. Brad isn't going to have an era and all the Hendrick guys (bar Gordon) still have 10-12 years. That's if they race until they're 50, Khane has more.

I'd say Kasey may be a champion winning driver a few years down the road if his luck would change. I do still think my driver has a shot but he isn't going to make an era like his father. We may as much as I hate to say, have a revival of Kurt Busch and hell maybe even Kevin. If Matt wins this year I don't see why he can't keep going further. The issue is this isn't the 90s anymore as much as two teams would like it to be. Truex too might be someone to watch with his MWR crew going with him to Furniture Row.

It's being rumored NAPA may go with Truex as well. Either people really feel sorry for him, or he is a hell of an awesome guy. And anyway you look at it, the future is as clear as mud. We just have to take what we can.

Random thought: What will happen when Jack Roush and/or Richard Childress either leave racing or kick the bucket. It's not the 90's, but they do still have some bearing.

True, and you win for guessing the two teams that I meant. I'm sure they have someone in line, problem is they need an overhaul because Roush seems too busy helping road cars have his name on them and Childress is highly invested into two guys that at this point aren't cup drivers at this moment (full time) but due to nepotism will get his attention. Problem is Gibbs has a solid line up, as much crap as I give Gordon, Hendrick has a solid line up as well. Next year SHR (if we ignore Danica being there) will have a solid line up. Childress and Roush...are questionable, and MWR is still trying to move along I mean yeah they have Bowyer but that's about it. I still see this being a Three team battle at the upper end of the championship.

I'm looking forward to watching SHR next year, could be fun. 4 quick-tempered hot heads that aren't afraid to speak their mind on the same team.

And 3 of them can drive.

EDIT: IRS after JPM?

Larson 7-Time Champion?? Hmm I like the sound of that, but that'll be after the BK era.
I agree with this though. Brad isn't going to have an era
How do you know? Bob Pockrass said Brad is going to win four championships.

In order for a driver to have an "era" they need to win multiple championships in a short span, which is something I don't see Penske being able to do considering how inconsistent they have been over the last 15 years.

What started the "era" talk?

If Brad sticks with his crew chief, I could see him winning at least 3 more titles, there just in the middle of a dry spell with Ford and will be back to try and take back the crown next year.

What era, Penske I think could have won far more being the only Dodge team out there and getting full support and money. Ford doesn't have their stuff together and that will hurt Brad. Secondly Brad can be a bit too emotional and petty to allow for more Cup championships one after another. If he did win them it'd be more spread out like Gordon or worse so I'd say.

Bob said this and some other joe said that, who gives a rats *** people will say stuff. It's who is right and can provide the most ideal proof that I will acknowledge and say I was wrong too. But you quoting a guy because he said it is stupid, and falls in line with how you usually make choices regarding NASCAR.

Hopefully it looks like this

*EPIC AUTOZONE SCHEME*

Not even close  (Ryan Blaney's #48 at Phoenix this weekend)

Miller Lite will introduce a retro white car in late 2013 and part of the promotion will be a white retro scheme that Keselowski will run in 2014. No announcement yet, but supposedly will run at least the Sprint Unlimited at Daytona in February.

.
Yes, but penske needed to become a ford team so they can compare themselves to other teams with that manufacturer.

You mean the "anchor" that hasn't done much since Tony showed them the door that's part owned by a baseball company that is focused on a more successful venture, or the one that's done less and gets tech help from the one part owned by the baseball company? No, I would bet that it was a money issue. Dodge/SRT/Fiat/whoever wasn't willing to pay what Ford was firstly, but also buying/leasing Roush-Yates engines cost less overall than building all the Dodge engines in NASCAR.

BK won't get four. He should consider himself lucky to have one, and would be fortunate to win one more. I see Logano getting one before Brad gets another.

The autozone car isn't bad. I do like that 2, though I think a MGD car would be well received.

Your right he won't get four he'll get more than 4 in the same time frame that Earnhardt got his 7. Do not forget Brad won his first championship in his 3rd full-time season, only Gordon and Earnhardt have achieved that legacy feat. Another thing that proves Brad will be one the greatest is that he has the ability to win on every kind of track and a strong since of determination.

I don't see Logano getting any. He hasn't shown that potential. If anything, I don't really see anyone but Johnson and Kenseth competing for titles if they can maintain their performance from this year. There's always going to be 1-2 others that make a push for it, but I just don't see Penske drivers being in that group.

With Phoenix coming up, I figured I'd share some lighthearted musings to get ready for this weekend.

I don't really love Phoenix International Raceway, but I think Phoenix is a great track. I like the flow of laps around Phoenix. You can really get aggressive on a track like this. The desert scenery and the hills are nice touches to compliment racing at Phoenix. Most of us know Phoenix basically for that one November Phoenix race- when Jeff Gordon took out Clint Bowyer and had that rumble in the late stages of the race. Anything can happen with a crazy track like this one. Phoenix International Raceway has been around since 1964.

Phoenix is an awesome track. NASCAR's top three series likely will not disappoint once those stock cars and stock trucks hit this track. According to accuweather.com, temperatures are mostly reported to be 81°F highs and lows in the mid-50s (Fahrenheit, of course). It is also expected to be sunny/fair for all racing this weekend. So no worries over any threat of rain or anything.

Besides this chatter, I think that vintage-looking #2 Miller Lite Fusion in Post #10728 looks very cool.

That's equivocally makes no sense what so ever.

Wanna bet? And if you lose, you will move off the planet !!!! :sly:

He does have an ability but so do many others, but they don't have the same hangups Brad does and that's all the difference.

You are betting with someone who will not only not honor the bet, but will have his fingers and toes crossed for his side yet if he wins will bother you to no end about it.

Penske didn't have another super competitive dodge team to compare themselves with so they decided to make the jump to Ford to better compare themselves with another big team with the same brand, I believe penske said so themselves. But anyway next year will be the year of stewart-hass.

Because you need to have a rival in the same make as you do to be competitive. Boy, wonder what that made Bobby Allison.

But anyway next year will be the year of stewart-hass.

Doubt it, part of me thinks it's too soon to add a 4th car when they can't even run 3 competitive cars(granted it doesn't help when one of the drivers is Danica). Plus they are adding two big name drivers that don't exactly try their hardest when the car isn't perfect. I'm guessing next year will come down to Hendrick vs. Gibbs like this year has gone. Penske, Stewart-Haas, RCR and MWR will play a part, but not end up fighting for the title.
