And word on twitter is France family wants to meet with BK over the article. I swear they are so stuck in their little world about how to grow the sport it's a joke at best.

Four Championships for the blue deuce driver. Good night guys!

I like your attitude. BK raced at my local track since he was like 12. Great person, and it was a pleasure to meet him before his NASCAR days. I would love to see this, but anything can happen. It takes one bonehead move from another driver to take him out of contention in the chase.

For so long I thought the George-Hulman Family were the undisputed champions of small-minded idiotcy.

While I don't typically like most of what Brad has to say when he opens his mouth, I must admit that I don't see anything wrong with what he said for that article.

No, I think he gained some respect from me for it as well. And he's 100% right, they want to bring in a young audience they need to make changes. And I totally agree with him on too many races and no need for more than one race at each track. And it appears he shares the same opinion on Danica that I do. :dopey:

Apparently Brian France and his minions were too stupid *as usual* to not say, "Hey Brad those are some great ideas for moving forward, thank you; we'll take those ideas into consideration.", instead of, "OMG U SPOKE UR OPINION U MUST DIE!!!!!!11111" I'm now firmly convinced that we all need to really start expressing our displeasure towards NASCAR and how it's being run into the sewer by these idiots second only to the governing body of the IZOD Indycar Series.
Indy Car is/was horribly managed, but there are 3 core reasons why it is in the horrible state it is in (Outside of the split, which is more or less ancient history), and this is from a semi casual Fan's view:
1. With the media talking about nobody but Danica, eventually nobody cared about anyone but Danica among the casuals, which killed off a lot of interest among the casuals when she left.
2. Many top Indy stars felt disgruntled by Danica, and left for either NASCAR or maybe F1? Anyway the old Indy car drivers are now either in NASCAR (Hornish), was humiliated in NASCAR and came back looking like idiots (Dario), or brushed over for so many years by Danicamania they are seen as inferior. And of course this led to everybody seeing Indy car as (shy) a place for NASCAR rejects.
3. The realization by many casuals that the championship means nothing and only the 500 means anything. Good for the 500, but it kills off ratings and attendence for every other race on the calendar.

Anyway back on topic, Brad is 100% correct. I have a buddy who 's family is close with the Reutiman clan (And yea I know I'm misspelling it but it's half past midnight, cut me some slack), and supposedly David was going to be in a 4th RCR car for 2012, however the deal fell through when NASCAR said no because the sponsor conflicted with one of their "official" sponsors.

Well I'm just glad my guy finished well and did really good! Lofton had a shot to win til the wreck or help Ron out, but 4th is awesome.

I was hoping for a Buescher win, thought he had a chance when he pushed Truex into the top ten, only for Truex's rear tyre to blow and kill all of Buescher's momentum. Pretty good race though. 👍

Haven't you guys noticed the pattern? Have you noticed that the most outspoken drivers in the past have won the most championships and wins??? Brad is obviously the next Dale Earnhardt.

I don't see Jimmy Spencer with any championships...

I'm sure you will understand my skepticism over this, I rarely believe "friend of a friend" stories.

Besides, the only sponsor that has an no-compete clause is Sprint so unless he got AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon to commit it seems sketchy at best.

I agreed with him on those points as well. There's really no need for multi-event tracks, aside from the Daytona Speedweeks stuff. There's more than enough tracks to have a race at each one, and they could cut the season down to about 30 races and it wouldn't hurt their product any, not to mention it would save some money for the full-time teams.

Anti-climatic finish. What a shame. Finally a race where people are actually... racing, and they can't because they finish under caution. They added the Green/White/Checkered rule to specifically avoid these finishes, but they half-assed it.

The point still stands Iceman. One of my New Year's Resolutions this year is follow more Indy Car and F1.
I understand Justin, but bear in mind we don't know about many "Official blanks of NASCAR" contracts. I don't see many rivals of Tissot on cars...........

Rusty is going to come back from retirement?

Oh, you meant Brad.

I agree with your skepticism, but it's certainly something I could believe being the case with how much NASCAR panders.

SPRINT needs to stop blocking other carriers... That is total B.S.

Of course I could see it happening, just that is seems unlikely. Now if he said Nationwide ride than I would have gave it some consideration.

It could be something else, besides a phone company

Sprint is the only company to my knowledge that has a no-compete clause at the Sprint level. Granted I do remember them having issues with Motorola on Robby Gordon's car a few years ago but most modern cell phone makers have other ventures they could brand their sponsorship as.

Didn't Sunoco throw a hissyfit over Kevin Harvick's Shell Pennzoil car a few years ago? They may have since backed off because Shell still sponsors a car, but it could've been another fuel company.

Screw Sunoco! I want 76 back!
