Looks like the Chevy dominance will continue at Indy!

And Hamlin finished in the top 20 for the first time in a month or two. :irked:
 
I wanna cry a river because Jimmie didn't get to win his 5th Brickyard 400, and instead it went to some local driver for the first time in his career. Such a pity.

Congrats to Newman, glad to see him take a pole and a win. I think there's no better way to send off your final season with your owner then to win as his home track. I think the Indy fans might have had the best 500 and 400 in quite some time.

I could be wrong, but wasn't the last time that happened was that one race in Talladega that had no cautions?

Can't remember what year it was, but no body wrecked or piled up at all.

There was a cautionless race in 2001, but people dropped out with mechanical failures.

You acknowledging Gordon breaking into the top 10 in points is an almost certain guarantee he'll have bad luck next week. :grumpy: Anyways, big props to Jimmie Johnson's pit crew for that screw-up handing Ryan Newman the win. 👍 I was also waiting for NASCAR to throw a "debris aka. Jimmie Johnson must win" caution with 5 laps to go, which amazingly didn't happen. :eek:

All congratulations to Ryan Newman. Proud of him and proud for him. I followed most of the 2013 Brickyard 400. It seemed like a snoozefest for the most part. Glad my man Jeff Gordon finished well despite some trouble- 7th for the #24 Chevy. Tony Stewart picked up 4th. Danica Patrick's number is 10, but she finished a different multiple of 10- 30th, multiple laps down. According to the standings I read, what is it like to win the Brickyard 400? How does getting paid $423,033 sound? That's how much Ryan Newman picked up as part of the winning purse. Making that paper!

So Eldora and Indianapolis are done. Bring on Iowa (Nationwide) and Pocono (Trucks - Saturday; Cup - Sunday)!
 
Good to see Newman get the win, especially a big one like the Brickyard.

Jimmie Johnson dominated the day but his team choked on the last pit stop.

I'm happier than a camel on Wednesday.
 
A little look on Jayski's site says this is the third. The '07 fall New Hampshire race and the '08 fall Richmond race were the first two.

Would've been hilarious if Newman was battling the last 2 laps, took the white and Danica suddenly carved the wall to being out a caution to ensure a victory.

But seriously folks (great album btw), aero dependency was a major flaw yesterday and today :(. The lead cars had smooth sailing, while everyone else had to eat snot.

In all honesty, when hasn't this been an issue? This happened with the old car, this happened with the COT and its happening now. Its not just Stock cars either, look at F1. When all the dirty air from the back of the leading car hits the front of the trailing car, the front aero is useless and the cars can't turn as well. Its a problem that'll simply never be fixed.
