In all honesty, when hasn't this been an issue? This happened with the old car, this happened with the COT and its happening now. Its not just Stock cars either, look at F1. When all the dirty air from the back of the leading car hits the front of the trailing car, the front aero is useless and the cars can't turn as well. Its a problem that'll simply never be fixed.

Better tires and NASCAR could loosen its grip on suspension setups. That would be better than nothing. Aero issues are more noticeable on fast "flat" tracks.

Get the cars up off of the ground. If there wasn't so much front downforce generated by the splitter, the cars wouldn't be crippled by a lack of front downforce when they are in any position other than the lead.

That would make for better racing and add to the legacy of the Generation 6.

That would increase speed, which makes the playing field more varied, which means less competition.

Ok, then add 2000 more and all races must be run on the crappy tires from Indy a few years ago that lasted 10 laps. And limit horsepower to 300. And the front tire will be half the width of rear tires while observing the inflation pressure of 35psi (when cold) stamped into the sidewall of every tire. And tires must be held in a refrigerated unit in the team's put area.

Absurd, this is "racing". The whole goal is speed and "precision" handling.

I think one easy thing they COULD do with testing without really changing a huge amount like the car or things like that. We need to start offering hard and soft tires, you get only so many soft per weekend but can't use all the sets during the race.

We might have blow outs but I think we would be fine because grip levels would be gone before that.

I'd say the best option would be to lessen the weight on the cars, I don't think that the amount of downforce created is causing a enough drag to make the cars significantly slow since the Gen 6 is faster then the Gen 5. However, I think more open aero packages that are implemented in a similar way to how Indy will do it -just not for open wheel but a sedan instead for NASCAR.

Also 1000 pound decrease is too much I'd say and the cost of the car would jump up quite a bit due to having to run more expensive light tubular frames and possibly carbon pieces that aren't just the seat.

It's a win-win if you raise the car. There is less front downforce created, meaning dirty air behind the leader isn't as bad for trailing cars because there isn't as much front downforce to lose. Plus, the cars would all have to slow down more for corners at most tracks, meaning that better drivers should gain an advantage.

That's a great point.

I think Danica will last maybe 3 years before GoDaddy has enough and drops her. If I remember right there are new marketers over there, and they seem to be moving away from their do nothing "sexy" commercials where you can "see the rest UNCENSORED on our website!".
Advertisers are slowly moving away from trying to be as random as possible to focusing more on the product. Just look at Domino's or even GoDaddy's Superbowl advertisement from this year.

I think it kinda helps that a certain male driver in the Indycar series is gaining a lot of popularity AND is actually winning races.

Of course there are sponsors that actually want to be seen on a winning car and not on a backmarker, like Dollar General. That switch from Turner Motorsports to JGR worked pretty well (that or Matt Kenseth just perfectly timed his switch).

To be honest, I see James Hinchcliffe as a much better spokesperson for GoDaddy. He's way more marketable than Danica is due to the fact that he's won multiple races and he's putting himself out there more often than Danica ever has. He's practically been a regular on SpeedCenter and Windtunnel this year.

Danica is only "marketable" because she's a woman in a sport dominated by men.

You also have Monster too

For finding the solution to the "aero push" problem, reducing the downforce on the front and rear by an equal amount while increasing mechanical grip (softer tires not made by Goodyear, looser restrictions on suspension settings) by the same amount should help, but as we all know, NASCAR refuses to take suggestions from fans to improve the sport. 👎 In my opinion, Danica did some "behind closed doors" activities to get where she is in NASCAR besides having Go Daddy as a sponsor, and I'm not talking about posing for Go Daddy either......

At least Newman didn't pose in swimwear to get himself into NASCAR...

The fact that crossed your mind scares me slightly.. :dopey: That was a great article though, about time people start to wake up and smell the coffee..

"The air conditioners all like WAH WAH WAH WAH"

"Line up behind the 10.."

"Behind the 10? She's on the lead lap?"

Which is stupid cause it isn't like their fans work in similar field or in engineering, cause that would just be crazy, eh Francis? I totally agree with you Mechanical grip is another option along with the better Aero grip that I suggested.

I agree, you can raise it and still have a more advanced aero package than they do now but as others said, nascar doesn't want that.

That's a great point.

Thanks 👍
