If we're getting a Caprice, we'd first have to wait for the SS replacement. Assuming that'll ride on the same chassis as the Cadillac CT6 (Omega), it would very likely be a decontented SS, likely with a smaller displacement turbo V6. Beyond that, both would very likely be used as the Commodore replacements in Australia.
 
Bummer. I rented a few from Enterprise and I really miss having the steering wheel ripped out of my hand every time I floored it.
 
A mighty improvement from the GM10 platform to the current car, and a cromulent rental car through and through. It's kind of forgettable, but compared to how long in the tooth and awkward the previous Impala was, it's almost memorable. It soaks up the bumps and seemed to fight my responses much less than I expect.

With the current dinosaurs (velocitractors?) taking over, and the other Great Lakes Sedans unable to forage the lands occupied by the heralded Ohio River Midsizers, this seemed inevitable.
