Accursed #15 :banghead:
FYI - Based on CPs being worth 2 points each at the end of the regular season, Gerarghini would actually pass you, and Chqr would only be three points behind you for 16th place. This is something everyone might want to remember when we get closer to Richmond...

Please read the rules for the All-Star weekend, as they have CHANGED for this season.

All-Star Weekend:
  • Two drivers will be selected from the field of the Sprint Showdown race (Friday night).
  • One driver already in the field for the Sprint All-Star race (Saturday night) will also be selected.
  • All three picks must be entered before the start of the Sprint Showdown qualifying on Friday at 4pm EST.
  • A 2-point bonus will be awarded if one of your selected drivers wins the pole for the All-Star race on Saturday night.
  • Points and CPs will be earned as follows:

My picks: 15/42/48

I'm a little confused on how to pick drivers . Can someone please explain it to me?

Are the picks free or are there CP penalties for the previous or next race?
No CPs are counted for this weekend, or next weekend.

Pick anyone you would like for the next two weeks with no penalty.

Pick any two drivers from Friday night's Showdown race. You get some points for them if they finish anywhere in the top five of the Showdown race.

You only get to pick one driver that is already in Saturday's All-Star race, so you want to try to pick the two drivers that you think are most likely to advance to Saturday's All-Star race from Friday's showdown race. This is pretty much the 9/15/17/27/42/43, in some order.

The top two finishers in the Showdown race automatically advance, plus another driver (that must finish on the lead lap in the Showdown race) that receives the most votes in the fan vote competition. If the fan vote winning driver doesn't finish in the top five of the Showdown race, you still get zero points for that race from that driver.

There are a lot more total points available in the five segments of the race held on Saturday.

A perfect set of picks would yield the following:

First and second place in Friday night's Showdown race: 5+4 points and 1 CP. Both drivers advance to All-Star race on Saturday.

One of your three drivers wins the pole for the All-Star race on Saturday evening: +2 points.

Top three sweep in each of the first four segments: 3+2+1 points and 1 CP for each race (24 points/4 CPs total)

Top three sweep in the final segment: 5+4+3 points and 2+1+1 CPs.

For the weekend, that's a total of 47 bonus points and 9 CPs that are possible to earn (no matter how unlikely...).

10, 22, 42, this is fine right?
If the entry form accepted your submission, it's good. It has a validation requirement for exactly two cars from the first race, and one car from the second race. It's impossible to successfully submit a set of invalid picks in the form. :)

So we don't get anything for picking the fan vote winner?
Do you get anything only for picking the person that wins the fan vote? No.

However, if the fan vote winner finishes 3rd, 4th, or 5th in the Showdown, you would still get those points for the finishing position. Also, you would have an extra driver in the All-Star race, which means the potential for more points to earn on Saturday.

If Clint Bowyer and Kyle Larson wreck each other, I'll wish I had picked the probable fan vote winner. You're only guaranteed to have one driver in Saturday's race, so you want to try to pick two drivers that you really think are going to advance out of Friday's race. The potential for more points on Saturday night, no matter how small, is infinitely better than a guarantee of zero points for drivers that don't advance out of Friday's race.

Larson and Boyer for Friday; and then went with Harvick for Saturday pick

And then I read the post above mine :boggled:

Well, I got Boyer(as many did). Anyone pick the 'Dinger? Happy to see him in there.
Also, Josh Wise in with the fan vote. Yeah buddy!

Did I have the 42 or 15 @MustangRyan?
3/42

Wilbur was the only one to take the 'Dinger. But, he had Menard instead of Bowyer.

I'm shocked that Danica lost the fan vote. It almost makes me wonder if the reddit fans created scripts to stuff the ballot box for him.
