Obviously I want the US to win, but even they lose, this game is still a hell of a lot better than the Iran-Nigeria game was.

I won't argue that, but of course, I have a biased opinion :lol: For real though- its been a physical game and a true defensive stalemate. Who said that a game needs to have a high score to be good?

They've done incredibly well considering the opposition. Hopefully they can continue to punch over their weight, and I would like to see them go into the last 16

Are people actually saying Germany have been the most impressive when they played against one of the most mythological teams in football? I'm not sure how Portugal always get rated so highly, but one player does not make a team. I hope Portugal can bounce back but in all honesty, Germany should have played a lot better against a team on the ropes like Portugal.
 
Portugal is constantly decent, much like 5PA1N at times. The thing is what one comes to expect is a more competent performance from the whole team all around, today there was none of that.


Impressive by the US team, not used to see the US playing an international soccer match but they seem to have good level now, Ghana also showed a decent show.
 
@Classic: They could have, but they also walked away with an easy 4 goal victory. That performance will be forgotten once you see that score.

And finally our media can shut up about Ghana this and that.:D

Who would've thought that in the group of death, USA will be tied with Germany at the top? :cool:

Even with Pepe out, Portugal is a much better opponent than Ghana is, and I'm sure Das Coach is making sure our men know that.
 
YES!!! This World Cup is the World Cup of REVENGE!!! First The Netherlands against Spain and now USA against Ghana!!! :cheers::bowdown::D
 
So, any thoughts on tomorrows games? Tomorrow is Belgium vs. Algeria (Group H), Russia vs. South Korea (Group H), and Brazil/Mexico (Group A).

Belgium and Brazil walk away with wins, Russia and Korea tie.

Though I do hope Mexico beats Brazil just for the giggles of seeing Brazilians freak out.

I like Germany and Netherland anyway, so it's beem a fabulous start to the competition from my perspective. Could we get a GERvNED final? I can only hope.
 
I was at a restaurant watching the game. Ghana scored, everyone was bummed. Then just when that corner kick was being set up, my waitress came over and asked me what I wanted. I'm watching the game, not even paying attention to the menu.

"I'll have...

Corner kicked, Brooks heads it in

"OOOOOOOOOOH!"

Made the most hilarious Ooh face and the whole restaurant went nuts. I got the ribs.
