2014 Nurburgring 24 hour, VLN series 7/12 teams signed up

Just realised that Jonny and Memto are in the same team.. It was jonny who used number 19 in practise but he was also using an NSX RM, CCR will be using the Lotus in the race right?

If they're free, we will be using:
#19 Niko
#18 attrapp
#14 the_proffs

Edit: First race looked fantastic! Really tight finish and some great battles. :)

Okay so I took in what Gadget had to say on the previous page, so I'm going to say that I'll drive any car if someone wants to team up with me, as long as I get the #46!

Yes I am, sorry there was some confusion about whether I was jumping into an Am team or not for the remainder of the series; although now Memto's missing the next round, has meant that I will be remaining at CCR in the Lotus with Jammyozzy as a teammate.

As for #19 feel free to use it, I shall find another.

Thanks for the offer, but I just agreed to race the Evo IX with Ninners. Are three car teams allowed here? Ninners, would you be okay with Rossington on the team if he wants to use the car, and if three car teams are allowed?

they are but only 2 from a team are allowed to run on a single weekend
 
Is the Nurburgring race starting at 10:30 or 11pm because if its 11, If it does I can't make it, we could put Lout in for that race if he's joining us.

And remember the final double point round at the Ring is a triple Lobby race so all THREE team drivers can race and score points. THAT race should be n absolute cracker!

The time change reflects that the UK will be back on GMT by the Ring race instead of BST (GMT+1) we are on at the present

Oh ok, then I will be racing then, if lout joins us we can put him in the 3rd lobby, if he would like to.

Just to confirm, because this series is meant as a lead up to the N24 in Feb, it is designed for THREE drivers per team, but, only TWO drivers get to race at the first 4 rounds (one driver in each of the two race lobbies).

The finale at the Ring will have THREE Lobbies, so all three drivers can race in that one.

Two driver teams are OK for Rounds 3 and 4 but you really need the third driver for the Ring if you want to maximise points scoring potential

Yes Kev, last round is planned to be for 3 drivers per team via a triple lobby race
 
Is it ok if I can run the Diablo? Handles much better than the Evo

Also team name will be changed to High Adrenaline Racing since I dumped the Evo.

Haven't heard anything from my team except Knukken here. I did mention back on CRAP that I will be available to race for NSPR on Saturday.

Also, Gadget: where's the room 2 recap?

Try PM'ing your team via CRAP as most of them spend more time there than on GTP

Lap 1


The grid follows poleman Matt around the pace lap in single file. He hits the throttle halfway along the main straight and after 3 months of planning the 2013 N24 CSS is finally underway.


Lap 2 – (first racing lap)


Everyone shows respect and common sense at T1/T2 for a clean start with no incidents.



Dave has an untidy Ascari which allows Lav to draft past on the approach to Parabolica and claim 2nd



Gadget drafts past Tati on the main straight to put him 4th



Lap 4


Dave reclaims 2nd from Lav on the main straight



…and Tati does likewise on Gadget for 4th



The Corvettes are tracking the 4th/5th battle a couple of seconds behind



Upfront Matt is already starting to build a lead.

Lap 7


Tati continues to swap places with Gadget as they scrap over 4th place while ahead of them Lav, who’d closed right up on Dave again, runs too wide on the exit of Ascari and spins across the track and into the Armco. The result is front left and engine damage, and a limp back to the pits for an unscheduled repair stop.



The Vettes pass Lav as he drops to the back of the field


Lap 8


Jake sizes up DaveB on the straight to draft into 6th.



Tati runs wide between Lesmo 1 and 2 and Gadget needs no further invitation to slip back into what has now become 3rd after Lav’s demise.



Seconds later Tati runs wide again at Lesmo 2 while struggling with dirty tyres, allowing Jake to relieve her of 4th, but the extra 40bhp of the BMW pulls her back ahead before Parabolica.

Daveb pits allowing a fast recovering Lavendel up into 6th.

Matt’s 7 second lead is doubled when Dave runs wide at Parabolica



Lap 19


What’s this? A sideways Lambo on the run to Curva Grande followed by a brush with the Armco and light rear wheel damage. Maybe there is hope for the rest yet. The lead is back to around 8 secs again.

Gadget and Jake make scheduled fuel/pit stops


Lap 25


On fresh rubber, Gadget is charging in 4th and closing in on Lavendel on older tyres, but then, more a case of ‘brain fade’ than ‘brake fade’ as he completely misses his braking point for Ascari. Worse follows as he recovers to track and then spins up the dirty back wheels and lightly nurfs the Armco sustaining light front left damage, but soldiers on without stopping to repair.



But he’s easy meat for Daveb who drafts past on the main straight and into 4th. He gets the place back next lap when Daveb pits for tyres.


Lap 30


On her fresh tyres Tati has now caught and passed Gadget around the outside of Curva Grande

Lap 33


With some consistent quick driving and by going long on fuel/tyres, Lav has got the Octane Racing Scooby up into 2nd place.


Lap 34


The battle for 4th between Tati and Gadget has been raging for 10 laps, but on lap 34 the wall on the exit of Ascari claims another victim as the BMW runs wide and then snaps left resulting in heavy contact, damage and the inevitable unscheduled pitsop for repair. Gadget slips up into 4th, and Tati drops to 7th.


Lap 35


Dave ‘does a Hamilton’ (Italian GP 2012) dropping it between the two Lesmo corners and sustaining damage which is made even worse when the crabbing car takes multiple taps with the Armco on the straight down to Ascari And dumps him into the kitty litter.



Gadget gratefully receives this gift and moves up to 3rd. After the pitsop, Dave drops to last place.


Lap 40


Lav finally stops for fuel and tyres. The AWD Scooby is the kindest car in the field on its tyres and Lav has leveraged this advantage to the max. He emerges with 5th place Tati right behind him



Leaderboard at the end of Lap 40. Memto has now lapped everyone except 2nd place Gadget.

Tati drafts past newly tyred Lav for 4th at T1, but he retakes it at the 'Rogia' chicane.


Lap 43


Tati passes again on the main straight, and Lav retakes at the 2nd chicane again. Great racing!


Lap 45


The Scooby/BMW battle is in his 3rd lap and ends with Lav nudging Tati off at Ascari. Lav accepts his error and slows to let her re pass but this has allowed Dave’s Honda to pass both for a net 2nd, because meanwhile Gadget has made his final pitstop and dropped to 5th.

Another brain fade moment for Gadget as he miscounts the brake boards and nurfs the barrier in T1, taking light front damage.


Lap 49


Daveb drafts past Gadget on the main straight to take 4th.

Lap 58


The Vettes are pretty evenly matched and as Daveb pressurises Jake at the Parabolica, the orange car runs wide allowing Daveb up into 5th.


Lap 63


But its a dominant and well deserved 'lights to flag' victory by Matt

Great recap Gadget! Things tend to happen in enduros don't they? Lot's of little incidents. It was pretty clear that the one with the least mistakes win.. even if memto in this case might have been a bit faster than everyone else as well. ^^
