There will be a policy for dc's during the race (n24) it will not include restarting but it will not disclude anyone either

Hm.. how will that work then? if not restarting, how will they be able to rejoin? Or what does it mean to not disclude? ^^

Everything should be ironed out by monday, please be patient (all organisers are on the busy side of things atm)

New official N24 Logo, What do you guys think?

Will you guys do any actual lap time practise on the nurb or is it just too long for that?

Me and memto had a 4lap race yesterday, but it rained throughout so we never had running in the dry, it was a good race though, we started at 3% but since the track was so long and rain was heavy, we both started on inters, we both pitted at the end of lap 1(water now 38%) me for new inters and memto to repair damage suffered in an off track excursion just before the pit straight, I was ahead by 5secs, but that was nothing before the long Dottingher straight where he passed me(water now 72%) I dived in for wets as a gamble since the Lotus was abit faster, I exited 26seconds behind and brought the gap down to less than 10s before he dived in(water now 100%) so I now had a 22sec lead on the last lap, dusk was setting and Nurburgring shed a new dark look, memto dropped to 39s behind by the end after a few mistakes on the last tour, the race decided on strategy and the big race should be a cracker if the weather is changeable!

On laptime, they should be around 8mins(completely dry) long since me and Memto did 9:07(me) 9:10(Memto) but that was in worsening conditions(3%-38%)

It was some good data to take away from last night, I now know where to push and not and when to change tyres

Very happy with the Lambo setup too, very unlikely that I will be changing it(apart from gear ratios obviously) also the car looked easier to drive in the wet compared to the Lotus, which doesn't have an car advantage, just that CCR have set it up very well as far as the dry is concerned.

Lol I'll take you on again in the wet with the right tyres this time

Question about inters/wets/vs racing softs: I ran a race a couple of weeks ago at HSR with weather. Through testing I found racing softs to be several seconds faster per lap with 100% wet than either inters or full wets. I was racing the Camaro SS RM at about 500 horsepower and I just couldn't get the power down through the wets and they didn't seem to help in turns either. Is this expected behavior or maybe a glitch with HSR or the car? It's the only wet race I've ever done and it makes me wonder what the point of running rain tires is if you can be faster on the soft slicks.

You sure you set the room up right? Coz that sounds like you didn't set the grip to real, softs will be faster if you leave it set to low and do t change it to real

It was set up to real in my own personal lobby during practices. I do not know what it was set to for the race lobby.

Soft tyres are never going to work in full wet conditions, they don't clear the water anywhere near as good at high speed, hence why instead of sticking with inters and a 100% wet track, go to wets because they can handle the corners(fast corners) much better.

I've heard people saying things like that before.. never tried it myself though. We can't use RS anyway so I guess it's a non-question unless mediums are also faster..

Question - I know that the weather conditions change quicker the higher the 'Changeability' setting is. Does anyone know if increase the TIME Change setting also increases the speed at which the track gets wet and dries up?

No Idea.. think it only changes how fast time shifts but who knows.. there's a lot of other weird things hidden in GT5 so maybe.

Will we be racing in to the night next saturday?

Yes, it will be a 3 hour race in real time that will simulate a 24 hours race in game time so we will experience the full range of daylight, twilight, night, dawn and daylight again. Great practise for next Feb!!

Normally if it's cloudy it generally takes longer to dry out(I think so anyway)

Looking forward to this, I may not have the fastest car, but I'm keeping it out of the barriers :)

It is definitely true that it can get wet and dry faster and slower, but I don't know if it's affected by the time acceleration setting.

Racing soft are prohibitet next weekend, is that correct? Just did 2 laps on dry yesterday with 8.25.xxx, nothing really to improve, 8.20 is my target :)

Correct, Racing Mediums are the only tyre we're running in this series.

Autumn Ring Stewarding

(remember the stewarding is done by more than one persona and it is only written when all parties are happy with the decision)

Room 1
Lap 12 - Play117 - memo89: Accident
Verdict: NFA *1

Lap 36 - Play117 - Niko: Avoidable contact
Verdict: 60 secs

*1 Play117, The first incident was understandable and unavoidable, you gave space and then you dipped a wheel on the grass spitting you into me.
The second how ever was an out braking manoeuvre from a long way back and a hop over the curb which resulted in the damage to both cars.

Finishing Order

2. Nin-Chin (2:02:43.013) (+16.086)

Lap 64 - the_proffs - GTL_Lucas: Racing incident

Lap 86 - the_proffs - GTL_Lucas: Racing incident

*1 - While chasing Lucas, he takes the defensive (inside) line into turn 1, placing his car on the apex, you then turn in aiming for the apex, where his car already is. While this results in fairly minor contact, I have seen many incidents like this that have caused damage and accidents so we advise you to take greater care in the future.

*2 - While the two of you have some great racing, there are two fairly hefty shunts into the 270degree left hander, these could very easily have spun a less stable car given the nature of the corner. I realise you were in a very hard fight but this raised beyond the point of close racing.

*3 - While we understand that you were eager to remove your car from a potentially dangerous position, your repeated attempts to rejoin the track come very close to completely wiping out Lavandel and Scott. This is driving standards warning 1/3.
