TMB are pleased top announce a new Team Member joining us for the VLN. His name is Richard (PSN ID 'RS__96__oO') and will be known to some of you that raced with me in the recent WEC RS Feeder Series.

Richard will be racing in one of the Rooms for VLN Round 1 at the Ring on 30th November, and we hope that he'll be with us for future rounds and the N24 itself as long as we can overcome the logistics of travel to the UK from his real life home right next to......the Nurburgring in Germany.

Local knowledge could prove useful :)

Matt, can you update the OP Team list accordingly please? I've already updated the Drivers list document on the GTPN24 FB Page myself

For the VLN round 1 race must be all team or it is individual??
Sorry.

And the car will be chosen by "you" or us?

Thanks.

Oh Jonny, he shouldn't join those teams because lordz is in the new Portuguese team REST. You will race in three individual rooms and then the time will be combined. If you don't have three drivers for a race you can still compete but probably wont win overall (laps are counted).

And yeah you'll have last choice on cars since you're the new guys.

edit: In other words.. you'll get the car that's left when everyone else have chosen.

All correct except for VLN we are using the scoring system we used in rounds 1-4 of CSS, where each driver scores points in each lobby (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) and the TEAM score is the total of its drivers in all three lobbies. Therefore if a team of three drivers each win their races the TEAM will score 10+10+10 = 30 pts

It's advised that you attend just do people can get use to everyone on track

As for choosing a car it's by order from the CSS so you have to wait for all other teams to pick

I am going to have to ask team tor to hurry up on their choice so that other teams can announce

Oh I see ^^ was just guessing that from what Jonny said.. probably shouldn't have trusted him after correcting him in my first sentence..

That system seems better for a series of races. Not every driver in every team will be there for every race and that would have made the other system pretty bad..

It's the last round system not the first 4, so it's total time of the whole team

So it means we all race togheter but each with its PS3 and we all met in the same lobby.

And YES all team go race the first round in VLN series.

And the car for VLN round 1 we who chose??

And YES all team go race the first round in VLN series.
There will be 3 lobbies with 3 drivers from 1 team in each lobby, the total time of those lobbies with give the total time. And from that the points are given.

Each on their own PS3, and each team driver in a separate lobby. For example like this.

Room1: host Jonny
TOR driver 1
CCR driver 1
REST driver 1

Room2: host i-was-ere
Tor driver 2
CCR driver 2
REST driver 2

Room3:
TOR driver 3
CCR driver 3
REST driver 3

Hopefully the cars will be chosen soon so everyone get some practise time in their cars.

Ok now I understand the system.

Matt and co are making us more and more social.. this is dangerous..

Talking of that.....which teams are still to complete the few sentances of background information on each driver for the 'Team BIO's' questions that Matt sent out a few days ago. I know TMB have submitted ours........do we get a Gold Star please?

Actually I'm really interested see this published to learn a little more about 'the guys and gals behind the PSN ID's' we race with to make it even MORE personal :)

We've submitted and you can read those that are submitted in the OP. You'll find a link to a pdf while hovering over the large grey text that says "TEAMS" :) It doesn't look very final though, since several teams are still named Poland24 racing and not all have answered the questions. ^^

I didn't get asked any questions.

More teams are getting back to me now so it should be updated today

Ahh thanks. I hadn't realised that grey box was a link. And FYI Matt, my original GTP PM reply is now updated with full bios on all our team members. We're done, you just need to paste our responses into the document :)

Hi Guys and Gals

So this message is only addressed to the confirmed 'Pro Teams' that will be competing in the N24 in February. It does not apply to the 'Am Teams' that are competing in the VLN series ONLY.

In February, all teams competing will need all of there drivers to be gathered together in one location in order to share a single driving rig/PS3 and PSN ID. In the previous 2 years what has tended to happen is the PSN ID used for the race has been the Team Managers account (or that of the driver hosting the team gathering), so for instance last February Team Motion Blur used my 'Gadget334' account.

Next year we are working hard to promote this event and have an audience beyond the participating teams, even beyond the GTP community, out into the public domain of real life racing enthusiasts. We plan to have 2 live streams running, the first with live camera action footage, and the second showing the 'Timing Screen' with race positions and split times etc.

It would be quite confusing for casual or first time viewers that don't know that (for example) 'memto89' is the Team Car for 'Concrete Climax Racing', or 'Play117' is the Team Car for 'Team Octane Racing' to follow the action. So we are requesting that just for the N24 race itself all Pro teams create a special PSN ID for team use.

I have just created "Team_Motion_Blur" as a new account and when GT6 is released I will use that account enough to buy the team car we decide on for the race in February. This will mean that in in the Timing screens our car will correctly show as our team name, and not my personal name.

In order to create a new Account, on the main PS3 XMB menu go to 'Create Account'. You will need an email address different to the one your main PSN account is tied to, but if you don't have this then just create one in Google or hotmail. You don't need to add credit card details as this will just be a second account.

There are some restrictions on PSN ID's. The name cannot exceed 16 characters, and must consist only of upper/lower case letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. No other special characters are allowed. Purely by luck (I swear!!) my team name is exactly 16 characters but some of the other Team Names will need abbreviating. Below is my suggestion of Pro Team names that would work in this format.

I suggest you register these names as soon as possible, but everyone can carry on using our regular names for the whole VLN series because it doesn't need any sharing of accounts. Then sometime after the final GT6 cars have been selected as your team car for February, teams will need to ensure that the Team Account is played a bit in order to earn/buy that team car ready for 23rd February.

Please confirm when this 'housekeeping' task is completed. If any teams want to modify the abbreviation of their team then fine (just let me know), but the above would all work and to my eye look OK. We will obviously need to get all of these accounts Added as PSN Friends at some stage too, but that can be done in February.

Thank you!!

Our team will have a little gathering when GT6 comes out so I guess we'll just start a new account then. :) (I'm a bit nervous about outsiders being able to watch my bad driving, but will be interesting to see if we can actually get outside people to watch. )

We are hoping that EVERYONE will embrace the 'spread the word' message and leverage their own social networks to grow the following. I am doing everything I can to grow followers.....I hope others will do the same. If everyone does a little bit, the results could be amazing
