True, but if if the G-light was activated I thought there was an established precedent that a driver shouldn't race. I'd read that the light did activate but I guess that can't have been the case in reality.

Good to see him fighting fit after a crash like that though, F1's come a looooong way :)

Only hit 5G IIRC, not such a big crash for the driver. Probably similar figure they get under braking anyway.
 
More important to note is that Sainz will be starting 20th on the grid and not from the pit lane since the team repaired the original car. I'm pulling for him today.

I'll back you on that, Anyone that has a crash that bad and gets back in the same car to race, So soon after deserves a good result.
