Jones is eligible to race the 18 this weekend as he can race Cup cars on 1.5 miles and under, but who knows if the sponsor will approve of the sub. They'll probably want a driver that can stay in the car until Kyle makes his return.

Edit: Orange Cone just tweeted that David Ragan is getting fitted for a seat at JGR.

The internet is being dumb right now but god damn if this isn't a great looking car.

Gosh, I always loved the old-school Interstate Batteries liveries.

As for might substitute for Kyle Busch, I could see David Ragan being a decent substitute. Eric Jones is a bit too raw to place into a Cup car and David Reutimann is overrated IMHO.

David Ragan is confirmed for the 18 this weekend. No word on who replaces Ragan in the #34.

Edit: Racehub just showed an interesting graphic.

Surreal to say the least. Seems also like Toyota really wants Ragan as MWR also considered him to replace Vickers. Should FRM switch to Yota or could Ragan level up back to the top? thoughts?

Yeah, Wallace Jr went the opposite direction. Almost like Gibbs and Roush traded him and Edwards.

If I remember correctly, David Ragan was out at Roush due to lack of sponsorship and not a lack of talent. It's very possible that he could still compete at a high level.

As for SAFER barriers, a good place to start installing them is pretty much anywhere that there isn't any SAFER barrier currently. There's no further research needed... if it's surrounding the track surfaces, it needs to be in place.

Think you might be onto something, very good chance for Ragan to kind of audition himself.

Definitely could see Ragan at MWR in a third car maybe next season, all depends on sponsorship aswell though.

MWR was considering sacking Vickers following this season if he didn't perform, no idea as of now with his heart scare

Bobby Labonte has talked with Front Row Motorsports and will possibly be in the 34 this weekend.

The team wanted David Reutimann but....... he didn't renew his license.

A snow emergency across the old South, including Georgia, may force cancellation of the next event at Atlanta.

I remember the Atlanta spring race being postponed back in 1993 because of a blizzard. That race was in March, I think.

My dad said that he might go to a Michigan Cup race for the first time since 2007 just because of it being Jeff Gordon's last full season. The last time we went to the track was 2012 for the truck race.

If Atlanta is rained out (Rain starts on Sunday, doesn't end until Wednesday), the best replacement date would be June 21st, an off weekend between Michigan and Sonoma and more importantly still in FOX's window of broadcasts. If that is the case the race is probably switching stations with Martinsville and will be on FS1 instead of FOX, simply because FOX's bread and butter baseball is the priority in June.
