Commentator, are answering a question about having GT3 cars at Le Mans, with the other classes. They said, problem won't happen, since there's already 60 cars. But there could be a chance, that they could replace all the GTE cars. They said that GT3 cars were cheaper than the GTE cars. It would also open it up for more manufactures, like Nissian, BMW, Audi, Bentley.
I can't see them changing it since they've changed the GTE/GTLM/GT2 regulations for this season to distance them from the GT3 cars, they should be quicker now. I can't see a category being dropped so soon after a major rule change.

I remember someone was saying that the GT3 cars are actually faster than the GTE cars. Never really looked into though.

Under 2016 regs I doubt it. Now, if both were allowed to have completely open tire competitions then it could be a different story. Tires hold back many GT3's since most GT3 series' have a spec tire.

Just a reminder that notorious twitter ranter DHH is entered in a car that is still leading it's class in GTE-Am.

Someone overtake them, please.
