Why do that when they could market MARC cars or WTCC cars? Since they bill F4, might as well do something with F3 if they are allowed.
Something a bit more powerful might make it easier for local talent to cross into second-tier feeder series like GP2 or Indy Lights.

They should just copy Japan by making the tin tops a Super GT Australia, with GT500 Mustangs and Camaros and GT300 MARC Focus and Mazdas and running a Super Formula style open wheeler alongside it.

/sarcasm (or perhaps not?)

"Inside Supercars" is tipping Nick Percat to replace Jason Bright at Brad Jones Racing next year.

They need to do something. Tell Bright, there are slots to fill in TCM, AGT, anywhere else but in a Supercars.

His reasoning at the time was that he wanted to win a championship as an owner driver. FPR had just hit it's stride in 2006, with 5 wins for Bright and 2 for Frosty and he jumped ship from what was obviously an emerging top-level team into a startup backmarker ride.

In the Britek years (2007-2009), he had only 1 podium and a best championship placing of 19th, whilst FPR scored 12 race wins in that timeframe, with Richards' 13th in 2009 being their worst championship result, with all others being top-10s (and a run of 5th-2nd-5th in points for Frosty).

I rate 2006 Jason Bright higher than 2006 Steven Richards and could easily see Bright scoring similar results to Frosty in that time.

Jason Bright never struck me as all that bright :sly:

If Ingall wasn't co driving Rick's Nissan, I'd almost be inclined to say that he might be one of the two.

I figure Johnson or Davison. I can't see a DVS driver(Imagine Gracie gets it) getting the seat. We'll see.

Super GT.

If he wants a pay cut, do the AGT in the 911 GT3.

I'll make a prediction and say, he might be employed by Walkinshaw but it won't be to drive for the Holden Racing Team.

That won't exist in 2017.

Indy or Bathurst. Indy or Bathurst. Indy or Bathurst. She's doing both. Yes?

Erebus have revealed one of the liveries they're considering for retro round at the Sandown 500.

Make this one happen Erebus, please.

I'm not a fan of the Ronald MacDonald colors(even though Shell Helix liveries use the same colors).

I love it. Best Erebus livery since the Penrite Anniversary one back in Sydney, I think it was. Reminds me of a little toy car I had when I was younger. 👍
It has the potential to be a great livery, but it's just designed by someone who doesn't understand colours. The fluorescent yellow and fluorescent red is just too much - either the red should be darkened, or the two separated by a third colour like black.

Erebus Motorsport’s impending move into a new factory in Melbourne should put to rest any doubts over the team’s future, says manager Barry Ryan.

The Betty Klimenko owned squad has been operating its two Supercars out of its small GT workshop in Moorabbin since relocating from Queensland over the off-season.

At 1,600sqm, Erebus’ recently purchased new home in Dandenong is twice the size of its cramped current home, which has already been sold.

The team expects to complete its move immediately following the August 26-28 Sydney Motorsport Park meeting, where both its Supercars and GT3 teams will be in action.

“We’re just ramping everything back up now which is exactly what we wanted to do,” Ryan told Speedcafe.com of Erebus’ operations.

“We don’t want to hear any more negativity about Erebus’ future and what we’re doing.

“Betty hasn’t just bought a new factory for the next six months, it’s for 10 or 20 years or more.

“We’re here to stay as a race team and we’re going to keep moving forward to get to the top of Supercars like we did with GT.”

Although Erebus has taken its own development path with its ex-Walkinshaw Holdens, the team outsources its manufacturing, making the change of shops relatively straightforward.

Preparations for the move are taking place while the squad locks in driver and sponsorship deals for its second car for the remainder of the season.

As previously reported, Shae Davies is the front-runner to secure the seat following Craig Baird’s one-off appearance at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Already signed to steer the car in the Pirtek Enduro Cup, the Dunlop Series driver is seen as the best of a thin field of candidates not already locked in elsewhere.

Ryan says that the team is doing its best to turn the unplanned mid-season shake-up caused by customer Aaren Russell’s exit into a positive as its looks to build towards next year.

“Changing drivers mid-season is a position that we’ve been forced into, but it’s given us a head start for being a full two-car team again in 2017,” he said.

“We’re full steam ahead at the moment to find a second David Reynolds for next year.

“There’s no doubt that we want to get ourselves into a position where we are getting strong results with both cars.”
I certainly didn't see Shae Davies getting that seat.

I think its just the render that makes it look fluorescent.

Why not? He had the enduro drive already, so all he needs is the budget for the rest of the year and he's in.

That's the thing. A budget.
Johnson and Alex Davison, Pye or even Percat, could get sponsorship. Plus they have experience.

Hurrying to get a second driver shouldn't be an option. If they just take the Tekno or DJRTP(last year) route with one car for this season, regroup and set things in motion for next year, would be better. In the end, I'm a spectator, I guess Erebus know what is best for them.
